I keep checking for news. I agree - Ross definately should be charged with something - anything! Child Neglect is something I feel he is guilty of. He failed to keep Hasanni safe.

I am so sick of people like Ross who feel 'entitled' to do as he wishes and never have any consequences for his actions. MOO

(Need to vent here, sorry)

It's because of these 2 conniving and selfish adults that Hassani will never feel the warmth of being loved, happiness of friendships and family but instead forced to feel the pain of rejection, the most horrible sense of fear and the sadness of not being wanted or loved.

These same 2 human beings have selfishly robbed Hassani both in life and after by obstructing and denying this precious child the justice he deserves.

Although these individuals may never be held accountable in the court of law, one can only hope what they have done to this sweet and innocent child will always be remembered which will hopefully give some amount of justice to Hassani, the boy who died simply because these adults felt him to be a hindrance for them.

(If our moderators feel this should be deleted I understand.)

San Leandro woman on a crusade to find missing children and adults

Then came Aug. 10, the day Ross says he left Hasanni behind at a Rockridge shoe store while he went to the front of the store to alert Campbell, who worked there, that he had arrived.

Ross says that when he returned the boy was gone. Oakland police say the boy was never there.

Miller was one of the first to search for Hasanni the next day.

"I thought, 'Here we go again,' and soon I was on the phone to the Oakland Police Department and had a picture of their (missing person) flier e-mailed to me," she said.

She gave T-shirts to Ross and Campbell, and stood stoically by them as reporters asked them questions about the disappearance. The couple was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder but criminal charges were not filed and they were released. Campbell, pregnant at the time, has since delivered her baby. The couple has repeatedly not returned calls for comment and has not been available for interviews for several months.

Still, Miller has persevered, leading searches, organizing vigils and putting together a fundraising dinner last month that raised about $1,000 to continue the search for Hasanni. Oakland police spokesman Officer Jeff Thomason said police continue to investigate the case.

"He needs to be found," said Miller. "It's just that simple."

Sherri-Lyn Miller isn't certain but it might have been her own life-changing experience that has led her to help others who are suffering greatly.

Miller has been a force behind the organization of vigils, searches and fundraisers for Hasanni Campbell, the disabled Fremont boy who went missing in August. Hasanni remains missing.

Miller has owned a San Leandro print shop for the past two years but recently switched gears, cofounding, with two other women, The Citizens for the Lost Society, a nonprofit organization that provides resources for missing children and adults.

"Cases that have struck me are missing people of color who are underrepresented in the media. It's one of those things where you see the problem and wonder how you can get involved. It's painful to watch. This presented an opportunity to really try to give anything I could to keep Hasanni in the news."

Sorry WhyaDuck!! Just noticed you posted a similiar article!
I'll leave mine anyways.
We need to get Hasanni to be found & maybe all of us a new fresh look at everything.

I wonder if JC will take the LD test now that she has NO EXCUSE????
My bets are that she won't & it sickens me that he's family isn't begging for help to find Hasanni! :furious:

Sherri Miller shows more love & concern for him than all of his family put together! :shakehead:

Still :praying: that Hasanni is found & he gets the justice he so much deserves!

LaLaw2000 I will never forget our little man either!

I wonder if it's possible to slap Ross with child neglect charges because he left Hasanni alone at the back door of Shuz and he admitted leaving the children alone in the apartment the day Hasanni went missing. I mean, he admits that he did that, in police and media interviews. That would give Child Protective Services cause to snatch the baby, wouldn't it? Can they do that even now?

I can't help but think phase two of this situation is going to center around the birth of that baby. There is NO WAY that LE is going to let them keep that baby...just no way.
I have been wondering this exact same thing from the beginning ~ due to his admissions ~ and can't figure out why he hasn't been charged. :waitasec: MOO

Volunteers renew search for Hasanni Campbell

Sunday, December 20, 2009

(12-19) 17:28 PST -- A group of 50 volunteers scoured the East Bay on Saturday, looking for signs of Hasanni Campbell, the 6-year-old boy with cerebral palsy who was last seen outside a shoe store in Oakland's Rockridge District on Aug. 10.

Pereda and Johnson said that as they taped a poster to a parking sign directly outside the couple's home, Ross appeared in the upstairs window and shouted, "You guys need to stay out of my yard."

Pereda, who has volunteered for four search parties to find Hasanni, said she was caught off- guard by Ross' behavior.

"You'd think he'd be more helpful and supportive," she said. "We're trying to find Hasanni."

Johnson, who like her daughter was dressed in a bright yellow "Search Team" T-shirt, added that she hopes Ross will notice all the new posters that line the streets of his neighborhood.

"He may think people have forgotten," she said, "but we haven't."

His reaction to seeing the volunteers is really sad. JMO.

I'm thankful for those who are still looking for Hasanni and would expect the foster parents to be even more thankful. JMO.

Just curious about a few things...Maybe someone can help!

If the younger daughter (I believe) was already removed from the home why would they be allowed to keep the newborn???

Also, I can't recall hearing that he was last seen at a walmart. Was this on August 10th the day he went missing? If anyone could just fill me in on that information, I would really appreciate it! TIA!

Without going back to look, I believe the Walmart sighting was a few days before 8/10, maybe the 6th IIRC. The child removed from the house is Hasanni's sibling, who LR/JC were also foster parents to, not LR/JC's own child. MOO
