Perhaps it's a "Felony Child Abandonment" charge which can lead to years in prison in California. Quite possible if they have evidence that she knew (or was told) that LE was seeking the parents of her child and she failed to come forward to claim the 'lil guy who, according to the article, was identified "with help from the community". Chose protecting her man over her own child IMO.
