No, those are on opposite ends of California.

I realized that after I posted it. My bad for jumping the gun. Seems like it could be a hiker/backpacker. Not sure the trails in that area. Last years the river crossings were rough in the Sierras. A couple of people ended up losing their lives because of the crossings and the current taking them under. Just a thought

Identified - Russell Dean Graeber

HOOPA, Calif. — The Humboldt County Coroner’s Office has identified a body found in the Trinity River last year in Hoopa.

On Sept. 11, 2017, at about 3:30 p.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to the Trinity River Bar, near the Hoopa Wildland Fire Department, for the report of a body found in the river, the sheriff's office reported. The person did not match any known missing persons in the Trinity Valley.

The coroner’s office has now positively identified the body through DNA comparison as 53-year-old Russell Dean Graeber of Hoopa. Graeber’s cause of death has been determined as freshwater drowning, according to the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office
