Excuse my ignorance, this is my first time posting on this website. But If there is a fingerprint database can't they make a search of this Jane Doe's prints?

There is a database called AFIS, and they probably have done a fingerprint search. But unless she had an arrest record, the search would not result in a hit.

Or had been in the military or worked for a government agency that required fingerprinting? A long shot, but you never know....

I'm sorry if it was posted and I missed it, but does anyone know if Andrea had been pregnant before?

This is on the list of questions to ask the detectives... It is not known, but could
rule out some possible matches if there were a definite answer.

this is a cover of magazine that I came across in my searching. It made me think of Andrea.
the child's identity is not listed. However, if this is Mountainman's andrea he did mention her parents
according to her were well known. If that meant in California I think it is possible if they were in showbusiness she could have ended up being used for a shoot. It is a real long shot but it caught my eye.

It's weird, that child does look like Andrea... But, then again, people can look very much alike. I could have sworn a childhood friend of mine was on a magazine cover, I was so sure I contacted the magazine to know the girl's name and it wasn't my friend. We had lost contact so I couldn't ask her. I later found out she had chosen a totally different path to modelling, she is a scientist who just finished her PhD. She has never posed for any fotographer at all in her entire life save from childhood school pictures. I don't think it is Andrea but wouldn't it be cool if it was...

I agree it's a definite resemblance. But Andrea would have already been an adult in 1986. Having said that if she was adopted, I wonder if it could be an unknown sibling? You never know.

Here's the pic in color: http://www.time.com/time/covers/0,16641,19880808,00.html

The girl has bright blue eyes as well. But really, the resemblance is amazing to the reconstruction.

Thank you so much for getting the pictures up here!! No matter how I tried I could not get them to show. I am not convinced the picture itself is not an earlier head shot used by the magazine for this story. I agree the kid looks too young to be Andrea in 1986. However, if you turn that kids head the side and tilt it up slightly like Carl's sketch the resembalnce is striking to me. Just intresting...

That is a solid resemblance. Her eyes are blue, her hair too light, and she is probably too young (if you presume that the photo was taken shortly before the date of that edition).

But if you can imagine what this girl would look like about 5-10 years older with darker hair and brown eyes, you'd have Andrea.

It was just so odd. I was searching for Andrea, using terms like street kids 80's, seattle, California and that cover of Time magazine came up. The light hair does not bother me too much because hair darkens with age and the hair in the color photo is already showing brown. The eyes can not be disputed, unless they touched up and made blue. Just odd. When I get a chance I will pull the microfilm of that magazine and just make sure nothing in the article ties into Andrea.

Just to be sure, I compared the postmortem to the color version of the Time cover. The girl on the cover has a few marks on her face (including a few small scars on her chin and below her lower lip) that I don't see in Andrea's postmortem.

And BTW, that Time edition was 08-Aug-1988, not 06-Aug-1986 as your caption indicates.

Thanks for comparing. Thank you for catching the date error. My eyes need work, lol!!

Okay, I pulled the microfilm so as soon as I am able with get to the microfilm machine I will read it. I did find out the article is about abused kids so that is kind of interesting in that it could be consistant with Andrea. I will write more once I read the article.

i def see a resemblance! i agree its probably not her, but its always helpful to see more real life versions of her nose. it's such a distinctive feature that could make or break a match.

  • #757
oh phewy, the library no longer has a functioning microfilm machine. Thus, I have the film but no way to read the article. The article is August 8, 1988, thru the eyes of children. All I Know is it is suppose to be about abused and neglected children.

Okay, the girl on the magazine cover is KD. She is thankfully alive and well in Seattle today. So this is not Andrea. The article was unremarkable.

The nose is identical. The chin is identical. Her lips are identical. Her eyebrows are similar. Even what little you can see of her right earlobe is consistent.

Hair can change, eye color could be the result of retouching (which they always do on these cover photos), and we don't know when the photo was taken other than it was before 8/8/88. (I remember where I was on that day - LOL)

I agree that it is probably not her, but I am sure curious who she is.
