Modoc County Sheriff looking for missing Sparks man in California

Tulelake, Calif. (News 4 & FOX 11) — The Modoc County Sheriff’s Office is looking for 22-year-old Ian Cole Griffin, a missing Sparks man who was reported missing last Tuesday in California.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies found Griffin’s vehicle on State Route 139 South of Tulelake, California.

Wow, this is incredibly heartbreaking. The messages from friends and family - us strangers here in the ether shedding tears for them...Would it change their minds? I doubt it. This world is cruel and despair is killing our brightest, a monster we can never find and prosecute.

Ian left us with a powerful introspection and thesis on existence, and for that I am thankful.

I hope they are found quickly for the sake of family - at the same time if they chose to go rejoin nature, I feel it should be respected. My guess is he walked West to the Tulelake wildlife refuge.

Remains of missing man found in Modoc County | KMVU Fox 26 Medford

The Modoc County Sheriff’s Office said on February 9, 2020, human remains were found west of the Agricultural Inspection Station on State Route 139.

“Based on the evidence located at the scene, the remains are believed to be those of Ian Cole Griffin, age 22 of Reno, Nevada,” investigators said. “Griffin was reported as a missing person back in November 19, 2019.”
