A woman who was 15 when she disappeared 10 years ago from her California home has contacted police and says she was held against her will for years.

41-year-old Isidro Garcia, on suspicion of kidnapping for rape, lewd acts with a minor and false imprisonment.

Per local news she was dating him when she disappeared.

Police say that after assaulting her mother, Garcia drugged the girl and drove her to a house in Compton where he locked her in a garage.

Also wondering if it is in bad taste as the media has not released her name. As well there is a young child invloved that she gave birth to in 2012....may this pain bring this woman some strength xo.

In 2004, when the victim was 15, Garcia was dating her mother and lived with the family, authorities said. The mother suspected that he was sexually abusing her daughter, police said..

....repeatedly told the victim that her family had stopped searching for her and that they would be deported if she tried to leave, the statement said. They also moved frequently to avoid being found, police said.

I'm hesitant to do much sleuthing on the original case despite my strong curiosity...IMHO this young woman should be in charge of her identity for the first time in a long time. If she wants to say her name, she will.

I don't want to say much but I am way confused on this one... the mom calls him her boyfriend who was living in the house with them but also sexually abusing her. And, he assaulted the mom right before she and he disappeared? Couldn't the cops find this guy or what?

Wow - it's so rare to see these kinds of stories and now three all in about three years time!

I'm glad she is away from that monster and that he'll be (hopefully) locked up far, far away from the general population and anyone he can victimize in this way again.

I pray this young woman is able to get all the help she'll need going forward. (And perhaps get some advice from Michelle, Gina, Amanda or Jaycee)

According to this report, he was the mother's boyfriend:

Police say in 2004 Garcia was living with the girl’s mother, who he was dating at the time. It was then that he allegedly began sexually abusing the girl, and in August of that year Santa Ana police received a call from her mother reporting that Garcia had beaten her and disappeared with her daughter.
