Gosh, nothing new all day? What are they doing?

Doesn't anyone in California recognize these guys or that truck? A truck that size, and especially a GREEN one, should be fairly recognizable.

Have they made it abundantly clear on both Spanish and English news channels that there is a $50,000 reward?

We need an update of some sort.

Little Briant and his family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Even here in the NE we have immigrants and even some unemployed US citizens standing in front of Home Depot looking for day work.

In San Diego we have a LOT of immigrants, and I don't see these two as unemployed immigrants. They look 2 clean cut to me! For some reason I don't see them as gang related either.

Drug dealers - yes.

IMHO this was a revenge crime, and I believe the father could have something to do with it. I haven't seen a pic of him on the tele yet, and like many have said - the mother said she owes no money, the little boy owes no money. So who does? Daddy dearest does IMHO.

May be a bit early to jump to conclusions, but this is my gut feeling.

Best,

It's been on the news here quite a bit. Even CNN is now showing the jeep and the supposed perps. We have an amber alert here, but they are no doubt across the border by now. I doubt anyone is going to give them up in Mexico if they're big drug dealers.

What I'd like to find out is if the dad made any trips to Mexico. Lots of folks cross the border for drugs -- maybe he has a connection there that we're not hearing about??

here is what im thinking....i just cant get this family out of my head.....and im sooo sad that there is nothing on briant .....

we know that the 2 men ramsack the house...for like 20 mins...why? is what im trying to think about....looking for what? they bought the tape 2 days before...so this was a planed event.....they knew they were going to tie up the family so they could look for something...they didnt find what they came to get and took the boy for rasom for what ever that family has that those 2 men want.....

also from some of the reading that i have done from myspace pages....i feel like this maybe is a family deal....almost like family against family.....just the wording that i have read over this last week.....just seems like this maybe got out of hand......maybe wishful thinking on my part.....that way maybe they are treating Briant well...and he will go home soon....:)

maybe

drugs,
money,
weapons ,

the 2 men were talking to someone else on their phones or walkie talkie's.....

dont you think that they would have busted thru the door and demanded what ever they were looking for to the mother and the children?? they spoke spanish, the mother speaks spanish....i dont think they would bust thru the door...duct tape them up...ramsack the house and not have said a word about what they were looking for....i think the mother and children didnt know where / what ever they wanted was....so they took braint and said ...give us back ???? or we will take him to mexico and kill him....

so why havent the parents come clean about what ever is going on....unless they have and we the public dont know about it.....maybe thats why the news mentioned that LE was affraid that because there was so much media out side of the home ...that the kiddnapers were unable to make contact with the family......

i was also thinking maybe they took her cell phone so that the family would have a way to contact the kidnapers to make the exchange for briant...and they also said not call the police....but the mom did (and i would have too)....so now what?....how can the family get ???? to the kiddnapers to get Briant back.....looks like they are going to keep him until they get what they came for.....

just my two cents and rant for the day.....

prayers for the family and little Briant tonight.....

I'm with you Cleo, checking in to see if anything is new. Getting that video shot of the 2 guys was a HUGE advance in the case this week tho. We're all just hoping and praying for good news about little Briant so we are impatient. Ya Ya

You guys have great theories. I didn't realize Briant was the only one not taped up. That definately says he was targeted, right?

I want to know about the oldest son who doesn't live at home. Have we learned anything about him?

Also, why were these guys so upset about not finding the keys to the car? There was a bunch of cars in the back yard, enough to make LE suspicious. I wonder where the keys were to all those cars? Maybe those cars weren't drivable and they could tell that by looking at them.

And TakeNote, I agree that these guys would have asked for whatever it was they wanted. It souldn't make sense if they didn't IMO. I think that is info held tight to the vest, but read somewhere LE is pretty sure what the motive was for this crime.

Kat, I take heart to your thought he well could still be alive because he was taken for a reason.

Hopefully he will be found very soon. I think there is allot of work, both man and mind power being put into finding little Briant. xoxox

awww...makes me so sad to type that ....ugg...:(

I dunno when I see people posting that these people should be recognizable even by the car they drive. Well, they honestly look like every other person in San Bernardino! I mean obviously their faces are somewhat shown in the videos, but I'm just not sure. I think it's drugs, the motive. I'm hoping these perps are still out in San Bernardino though and have a lot of people who'd be willing to rat them out to the police for the right amount of money. This little boy didn't do anything to anyone. I wish that he could come home alive to his mother and family.

Also would like to post this from the local paper:

5000 fliers distributed:

Hi Sttct, This snippet from your link was most interesting:

"Store cameras showed the men leaving in an older model green Ford Bronco - the same vehicle spotted leaving Pedley Road three minutes before Briant's mother called 911 Sunday. . ."

ETA: Just thinking, but I wonder if the 3rd guy was sitting in that car parked by the liquor store and someone at that store ID'ed it. It couldn't have been very far from Briant's house, eh?

I didn't realize this same car was seen again right after the crime. It is kind of an unusual car and would think LE could zone in on it thru DMV records quite easily. I wonder if they know who these 2 guys are by now

Back to bed LOL, but good to see you. xox

Just checking in on little Briant, thank you to those of you who are able to keep this thread updated. I am in Alabama and I do not hear a thing on this little one anymore. Lately it seems the headlines are....missing one day, forgotten the next......I will not forget these missing children until they are brought home one way or another.

The Market/Liquor store is only a block away on the corner of 4th and Pedley Road.

If the car is in Mexico, it seems survelliance at the border may be possible. Maybe the mexican policia is working that side of the border. The FBI have enlarged these 2 guys and likely these 2 are recognizable.

ITA KR2,

I am very positive about the job LE is doiing on this case and think they are totally on it. Having called the tip line and hearing them jump to in the background, call me back later, I think they are looking at everything they feel is justified info. And I believe they not only have the FBI assisting them but possibly other crime experts in this field dealing with the Mexican cartels. I know often in cases, experts call and offer their services to help solve the crime as quick as possible.

I can't get over how swanky and cosmopolitan the one suspect looked, wearing leather pants and knee high boots to where he would fit in being in Hollywood or NYC. Panashe is what I am trying to say. And I wonder why a guy that has the wherewithall to dress in this fashion would stoop so low as to be a hooligan, terrorizing a family and swiping their baby right under their noses. It is still unbelievable to me.

If he is involved with a cartel he must be making lots of $$$'s and I would think it is a major cartel. I'm going to read up a bit tonight on these cartels and see what I can learn.

All I know about them now if from a man who I talked to long ago who worked down in Mexico as a young man, He said the growers and mafia members were ruthless, killing anyone who got in their way. And some of the stories he relayed were horrific. This guy had been a cocaine user, and he said the day he learned what they did to family members of those who crossed them, he never touched the stuff again. It had been many years before I met him that he quit and he was still so passionate about the horrors he had learned about. xox

It sounds like maybe the husband bought drugs from those two guys or someone that they know and didn't pay so they came collecting. What makes more sense to me though beings the guys ripped through the house looking for something....the dad might sell and gets his stuff from the two guys or some of their group. Maybe he sold the drugs but didn't pay his boss and they came looking for either the drugs or the money. Hard to say but I can't imagine what else it would be that would be worth taking a child for. They probably figured they would get whatever they were after if they took the baby for insurance.

I would imagine the husband and wife have come clean with LE by now. If they want their baby back they are going to have to figure out a way to contact these guys who the husband probably knows. Make arrangements to give them what they are after and let LE deal with the rest. From what the wife said to the two guys it sounds to me like dad is mixed up in something.

I hope they don't hurt that beautiful little boy.

ITA! I watched Nancy Grace the first or second night after this child was abducted. When some of the guest panel members referred to this crime looking like the actions of a drug cartel she got very defensive. She kept making comments to the effect that neither LE nor anyone officially on the case had made any remarks about a drug cartel. She was making me so mad, because it seemed like she was purposely ignoring the huge "elephant" in the room,so to speak. Now,of course, this is the working theory. I pray that LE finds that child still alive, but the thugs connected with the drug cartels are not in the babysitting business.

O/T, I just saw a commercial on CBS for his return, it was accredited to CBScares. Is this Dave L, late night show? There was no reward that I could see standing out. Has anyone seen a commercial like this? Glad they are putting his picture out there just wonder if they could post the reward larger.

So this Mexican guy I know, I had him over tonight for dinner and some convo. He is an American but born in a field down on the border of Mexico/Texas so he is really Mexican in spirit and having none of the advantages of one born here, speaking perfect English with no accent. He hangs on the streets to get day jobs and knows all of the illegal aliens from across the border, who follow the pipeline up the West Coast to a better life here in America.

I had shown him the photos of these two men in Home Depot. Tonight I asked him, don't you think it is unusual for 2 guys who look like this to enter a home without welcome, ravage it for 20 min and then not tape up the baby but everyone else and end up taking him when they leave?

I said look. this guy is spiffed, in leather pants, knee high boots. He doesn't look like a hoodlum! The other guy has on a fatigue coat and jeans. And then, what does this tell you about the crime, and what really happened there that day....

He said he thinks they got paid by the cartel to do the job. Sent up to finish some business and it's all about drugs. They searched for 20 min and didn't find what they wanted. They immediately taped up the family except the vulnerable one, the child, so if they couldn't find what they were after, they would have leverage to make someone cough it up. All well planned.

He said what they were wearing tells him they had plenty of money, and they dress like major cartel dealers, all fancy, down to the boots and fatigues being right in style with these semi-affluent Mexican hoods. They always have style about themselves even though they are the lowest of their breed.

He said that is the way they play, they are not stupid. And that the dad of the little boy, or whoever wronged them will have a connection to these people and will know how to get in touch with them to get his little boy back after paying the debt.

He said the mother probably has no idea what has gone on with 'owing' someone. The father or one of the elder sons or maybe a relative, whoever is connected to these guys, would never tell the mother what is going on. It isn't how they do things.

I made him Swedish pancakes and sausage and it was well worth the effort. I learned that there is most likely a LIVE connection previously established between the cartell and someone in the family or close to them.

And one more thing. I said, do you think this little boy is still alive. He said he thinks they will hold the little guy somewhere until they get what they are owed. The threat to kill the boy in Mexico was only made to scare the one who has done a dirty deal with whoever, and get back what they are owed.

He said they are close by. Even if over the border. They are smart, and if they are going to do a job, they will do it the right way. That is what they get paid so highly for. If the person who owes them doesn't contact them and make good with his debt, give it a couple of weeks and then they would kill the child. They are cruel people and #1 want what they are owed, but this is their business, and will hurt the person with what means the most to them - their Achilles heel, so to speak, never to see their little boy again.

He also said if the father sat there in the yard, head in his hands in grief, he knew he had screwed up. That told him allot. It was interesting how my friend kept going back to the father. The father. He said in Mexican families it is the father, always the father who is in the know and knows the in's and out's of everything going on.

And I think LE has it pegged down to the gnat's eye. I just hope they aren't down across the border.

PS: This is a subjective post, only written to help see this case from another perspective. What I learned did give light to what might possibly be the case about what happened and why, and how it could possibly be resolved. xoxoxox
