Off hand, they look like small time punks trying to imitate the cartel's way of business.

Bumping Suzi's post with link to sketches of suspects that were released earlier.

Can someone do side-by-side comparisons with the suspect sketches and the new pics. released by LE?

TIA!!:)

Briant is still in the hospital. :( "Mostly precautionary", though, for malnutrition, dehydration, exhaustion, etc. Names of suspects released.
Doctors at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital found no physical harm to the boy. His father Raul Rodriguez said today that doctors were monitoring a minor pancreas infection that the boy had developed during the past two weeks.

Besides having his head shaved by his captors, Rodriguez said Briant is the same happy-go-lucky toddler he loves dearly.

"His hair looks different but he's still my son. He's still the same happy and playful little jokester," Rodriguez said in Spanish while holding a tiny T-shirt and shorts in his hands.

My 9 year old son said they look nice. LOL. His Dad is mexican and he used to think that all hispanic men were either his Dad's friends or cousins.

Interesting, isn't it, comparing sketches with the 'real thing'.

I do think having seen these 2 for about 20 min, most of the time lying on the floor face down and taped up, this family did an amazing job of putting a persona to these guys.

The fat cheeked one in the sketch - his real photo shows high set small eyes set at the top of the ear which is a bit out of proportion for the normal face. His cheeks seem to drop from the eyes, and he might have weighed more the day of the abduction making those cheeks a bit fatter. At 5'6" tall and 150 lbs he might have a tendency to go up and down in his weight. So the sketch gives a pretty good resemblance IMO.

The Vega guy, I thought the sketch made him look like a 'Randy Dandy' guy, a bit effeminate with those eyes and lips. No way. He is one skinny guy @ 5'9" tall and only 130 lbs. WOW It is his eyes that dominate his face, and I bet they flash like lightening when he is angry.

Also, before we got today's photos I thought fat face was the honcho in charge. Looking at them in person and getting a glimpse of their personalities now, I can see how Vega would call the shots and dominate.

On Nancy Grace tonight it was pointed out that GF Claudia might have helped to protect and take care of the boy, and we'll just have to wait and see.

A pancreatic infection. Does anyone know what would cause that? Drinking different water? I know the pancreas is a touchy organ so I hope Briant is OK.

He doesn't have any visible injuries that have been mentioned.

The thing that concerns me is the difference in his facial expressions.
the father says he is still the same "happy jokester" but look at this poor baby's face when he is photographed after returning. He looks worried, stressed, haunted. His poor little eyebrows have an angle that should never be on a child. what a terrible thing to have done to a little one. They stole his security. I am sure he's had a rough time, the bruises to his little spirit show in his face now, and he doesnt look like the same kid, expression-wise.

Every momma in this country should want to cuddle and hug this little guy.

(respectfully snipped for space)

one of the primary causes of pancreas infections is bruising to the abdomen.

I really dont want to think he was struck by his abductors, inappropriately drugged, or otherwise mistreated. Its a much more comfortable supposition to consider it was from an infectious source such as less than sanitary water suplly or similar agent.

listed causes:
Certain drugs, including azathioprine, sulfonamides, corticosteroids, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and antibiotics such as tetracycline
Infection with mumps, hepatitis virus, rubella, Epstein-Barr virus (the cause of mononucleosis), and cytomegalovirus
Abnormalities in the structure of the pancreas or the pancreatic or bile ducts, including pancreatic cancer
High levels of triglycerides (fats) in the blood
Surgery to the abdomen, heart, or lungs that temporarily cuts off blood supply to the pancreas, damaging tissue
Hereditary diseases, such as cystic fibrosis
Injury to the abdomen

Hi LawRig, I had the same thought, that either he is a very serious little guy or didn't feel good upon his return.

Suffering a mild pancreatic infection tells me he was possibly feeling punk from that. It causes pain in the upper part of the belly and patients get dehydrated.

Looking for causes for this illness in children is like looking for a needle in a haystack, as there are so many possibilities. One of the leading causes is blunt force trauma to the area which causes injury to the Pancreas itself. Then there is a virus like Salmonella that can cause it, a bite from certain spiders - the list goes on.

One medication used to treat it includes sulfer. I know back in the days of my parents traveling on Holiday to Mexico, they always had to take sulfer pills with as the water is so different than here.

Don't really know the answer. xox

Hopefully that sad serious look will turn into a happy one as he heals and then as he gets over the trauma he has been thru.
