Why are the circumstances surrounding Atieh's disappearance considered suspicious? I would like to know more about that....they think he might have drowned, but because they never found the body...(the body could have drifted out to sea) is that making it suspicious or are there other things that are not disclosed.

Agreed. More details would be appreciative if something "suspicious" it is to be included in the MP report. I noticed many agencies left out the "suspicious" part; it was the Charley Project that reported it. Like was it suspicious because was he someone who never went into the water / didn't know how to swim? Or could it be the opposite and maybe he was he a strong swimmer so it would be suspicious for him to drown? I would like to know these things too!

The other thing is....was he missing from the beach (which one?) or last seen by somebody at a beach. Doesn't necessarily mean he went missing from the beach, IMO. He could have just left and was not seen afterwards/ went missing from a totally different place. Also who did see him last....was it a friend and acquaintance, a lover, "the guy from the juice bar"....etc.? Other sources say he is missing from San Francisco...nothing about a beach. Was his stuff left/found on the beach?

ETA a couple of times.

What would the average temperature be and that of the water over there.....on December 9th? Would it be a good day to swim or just have a nice walk on the beach? Just trying to get a view.

To answer my own question

Jan 46.4°F 58.1°F
Feb 48.5°F 61.4°F
Mar 49.2°F 62.5°F
Apr 50.1°F 64.5°F
May 51.4°F 65.4°F
Jun 53.2°F 67.7°F

Nov 50.8°F 64.1°F
Dec 46.7°F 58.6°F (approx....8,5 °C - 14.5 °C)

I suppose on a beach it's even colder......Hmmm (meaning doubting...thinking question mark)

I wondered the same thing about the name of the beach or at least give a general location. Wouldn't this be pertinent information that's necessary when reporting someone missing?

Also agreed, I am always curious as to who saw the MP last and who's the one who reported them missing - and their relationship, if any.

Also good point about the possibility that he went missing after he left the beach. It makes more sense since, yes..it's seems waaay too cold to swim and he wasn't even wearing a wet-suit! It seems unlikely that he swam that day.

The clothing mentioned doesn't seem like typical beach wear either.

:) Don't know what typical beach wear is in SF, CA....If I go to the beach in December (North Sea beach) I would definitely have a lot of warm clothes, a winter coat, and shoes that are ok to get wet and dirty from the sand. Swimming wouldn't be an option.....only.... there are a lot of people doing the New Years dive.....brrrrr. I'm not one of them.

Just to think back about the word "suspicious"....I can see that now....things don't add up....maybe because off a lack of crucial information.

I agree. It said he was wearing a suit (grey trousers and jacket, anyway) with dress shirt and black shoes. Even if you were a winter swimmer, surely you would wear a track suit with swimming togs underneath? And trainers?
