CA - J. Paul Getty's grandson found dead; had just sought restraining order

How awful to have such personal details published in the mass media.

But he the probably suffered from rectal varices, which can result from liver disease (and other causes). An increased blood pressure can cause hemorrhaging, and it's life threatening. I know someone this happened to. :( I'm just speculating, but it fits with the verbiage from his court order. Poor guy.

Early this morning when I saw this on Fox, it was also reported that there was some head trauma. Not sure if that's accurate.

What a hot mess. The ex-GF who called 911 was served a restraining order 2 weeks ago by him. LE had been called to the home a whopping 31 times in the past related to domestic issues. Paramedics reportedly found him to have sustained traumatic injury to the rectal area and subsequent significant bleeding to the area, he'd reportedly been feeling unwell for some time and apparently had an appt to see doctor tomorrow. No idea what to make of any of this:

Million to one shot doc, million to one.

Sorry, I couldn't stop myself.

After Reading this article, despite his strange/tumultuous relationship with his ex, I could perfectly go with dying of natural causes.
I have colitis ulcerosa which in lay terms is an autoimmune disease of the colon like Crohn's disease. When there is an outbreak it can manifest itself with continuous very painful bowel movements and extreme blood loss from the rectal area(sorry) to the point of needing a blood transfusion. This is only in extreme cases, but my very first outbreak was an extreme case, so I have no problem to imagine this could happen to everyone.
The pain can be so severe that it's possible to faint from it ( for example while you are trying to reach the bathroom) which can result in the blunt force trauma provided you fall on hard floor or hit yourself falling against a table or some other hard, sharp edged furniture. I can totally see it. The pain, the panic and the horror of heavy blood loss can make someone easily disoriented. Especially if it is already going on awhile.
I'm not proud of it, but I went to see a doctor very late, after weeks of suffering and losing a lot of blood, and the very first outbreak of this disease proved to be almost fatal, because of my own stupidity. Maybe he waited just a little longer than me.

The media shouldn't be referring to it as "rectal trauma" it makes one think of something it might not be and an embarrassing mistake to make.

It's just that this story seemed to change, earlier reports ranging from a gunshot wound to the head to blunt-force trauma, same region, to blunt-force trauma, region unspecified, from abusive female love interest to "accident," to, well...."natural causes."

Still doesn't explain why she was there. He had a restraining order against her.

I can imagine if an LE officer sees somebody in a pool of blood coming from a rectal area, and maybe coming from some other place caused by blunt force trauma too, his first thought wouldn't be like: OMG he has a terrible case of colitis/Crohn's. She/He would think trauma and this is what his/her source would hear as first info. This could account for the initial different reporting. Besides trauma sells more papers.

Why his ex was there is a good question. Maybe they were on speaking terms despite the restraining order. It wouldn't be the first time something like this happened between people with restraining orders. Or maybe she would call despite the RO, and he would pick up the phone and have an argument, but he wasn't picking it up anymore and she got worried for real or got really angry. It could also be she went there to have an argument in real life and found him dead instead. An RO is not a wall and some people are ignoring it.

Is also possible the ex went there and did have an argument with him and she took advantage of his bad shape and killed him.

I don't know what really happened, hopefully LE will find out and if it is not natural causes, then we can only hope the culprit(s) gets punished accordingly.

From the description of the injuries it sounds like the death could be the result of a sexual misadventure (without getting too graphic).

Yeah .. a friend of mine had an 'accident' like that .. he told everyone he hopped off a ledge and onto a broom and it went up his butt .. um yeah not so much .. a broom was involved though ..

Do people really think hospital staff is that stupid?
