this is odd. was there any indication of depression? also, worth noting that Bakersfield is pretty red state for CA.

According to the facebook page, the Uber driver has been located and cleared by police. I'm really worried about Jai. Also according to the facebook page which is rumor according to TOS, she was dropped of at Hart Park. The park has 2 lakes, 10 acres. People fish there. Hopefully someone will remember seeing Jai.

Friday's weather hasn't hampered the search for a missing 19-year-old. In fact, it intensified as BPD, KCSO, Kern River Rangers and members of Kern County's gay and lesbian community teamed up to try to find Jai Bornstein.

Law enforcement search and rescue used all-terrain vehicles to reach more remote parts of Hart Park.

While canine units from the search and rescue teams scanned the river banks. Volunteers from the community joined family and friends to cover the southern bank of the river, where Jai was last seen.

They say they don't want to find anything because that would only mean bad news. "We're here to try and find some answers if any. But we're hoping that nothing is going to come of it. And we can go and start somewhere else. Because this place, this is the very last place that you ever want to find anything," said Jamie Weddell, volunteer.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - UPDATE (Dec. 30, 2016 6:30 p.m.): Jai Bornstein may have had her father's gun when she went missing, according to one of the search party organizers. The family is not confirming this information at this time. There have been reports that Jai may have also been suicidal.

According to the Find Jai Facebook page, there is another search of the park today. I don't believe these searches are by LE. Honestly, I'm surprised there has been no information of divers being sent into the lakes.

Jai Bornstein, 19-year-old missing teen, found dead in Hart Park

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Searchers found the body of a missing 19-year old girl Saturday afternoon.

According to a member of the search party, Jai Bornstein was found today in the area of Hart Park.

The funeral for Jai Bornstein was held at the Home of the Peace Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Monday...

Hundreds gathered for the funeral service...

The Bornstein family wants to remind anyone who has suicidal thoughts regardless of their background to seek help and not be silent.
