So many demonic sightings in East San Diego County

Interesting article from 1991, about the rural area east of San Diego and being full of different cults.

I think he may have been confused about his direction in life, and a previous article in a post mentions a drug habit, which wouldn't have helped.

I think he entered a cult, and may have scratched the swastika in the hood of his VW Beetle himself, in that he saw the vehicle as a representation of Nazism, and he was now heading into a new, beautiful life where everyone was the same, no matter what.

That's what he may have been led to believe, but I think whichever cult he went to, voluntarily or not, may have sacrificed him, or driven him to suicide.

I find it odd that the police refuse to answer questions. Especially after this long. What's been heard of this "Children of the rainbow" do you have anymore information on that?

I think this may be a reference to the Rainbow Family. This grew out of the haight-ashbury scene in the 70s counter culture and was growing in popularity. It still exists today. They basically believe in no leaders and to bring peace on Earth, no money etc etc a bit anarchist and communist. But essentially it seems to be a group of hippies and rednecks that get together, take drugs and have sex.

I can't find any evidence of people changing their identity on joining but if you do a quick Google search there's a lot online about sexual abuse and violence and drugs. It may be connected.


I am wondering about the new roommate with the subsequent convictions for beating up his new roommate afterwards. Did they already know eachother or is it possible that James moved in with his drug dealer or someone that he really didn't know at all and turned violent?

I have the impression that this young man, apart from belonging to that cult of the rainbow children that I can imagine drank alcohol, consumed drugs and had unbridled sex without protection... this young man was homosexual... the swastika can give that information... that hatred against the gay community leads them to kill them just for being gay... I think they waited for him somewhere, kidnapped him with his car, perhaps he was raped by these same guys and killed, leaving the swastika as proof of his actions... I also read that he wanted to get his life back and continue studying... he was never able to do so...
