WOW! So glad they were able to find her before she expired, and she will be able to get the mental help and medication she needs. She will probably lose her job, which is probably best for all. Poor lady.

I am so happy to hear that she has been found and will receive medical care. I would write something more, but I am speechless. I was way, way wrong about this. I never in a million years would have predicted that she was hiding. And for that many days? Just speechless.

‘That girl has a will to live.’ Rescuers describe finding missing Jamie Tull

About a quarter-mile down the path, Bianchi noticed an unusual figure near the fence. When the three men got close, they saw it was Tull with her knees in the air. She had been wandering in the pasture all night and had so little energy and strength left she couldn’t make it over a barbed wire fence, Garber said.

“My first reaction was that she might not be alive, and then all of a sudden she started talking,” Bianchi said. “It’s like, oh my God.”

“When we came upon Jamie, your mind begins saying ‘That can’t be her. That just can’t be her,’” Carpenter said.

When Tull saw the men, she had a simple message for them: “I’m alive.”
She was lucid enough to communicate that she had no broken bones and sought shelter near a water tank.
“She said that she had been praying the whole time, she was so happy that somebody had found her,” Garber said.
The three men jumped into action, retrieving water from the Jeep they drove down the bumpy pasture path and dialing 911. Tull was badly sunburned from triple-digit temperatures and severely dehydrated.
“That girl has a will to live,” Carpenter said. “Anyone who can survive out here for 17 days is an amazing gal, to me.”
“The reality is, had she been in the field another 20 feet, we would’ve never found her,” Carpenter said. “This is really, to me and everybody else who was out here this morning, a miracle. This is truly a miracle.”

I'm so glad she was found. I hope she can receive the right help and recover. As a kindergarten teacher, she clearly has a kind heart, because that's certainly not an easy job!

I'm sure she's in no condition to return to work right now, but hopefully her district will support her and allow medical leave for her to get help.

I read that she had resigned from the job prior to this event.

What a story. As one of the rescuers said, finding her alive is a miracle.

I hope she will be able to overcome this, realize how much she is loved, and follow medical advice. :beats:

Were search dogs used at all? Clearly she walked away and didn't get far! They dropped the ball if they didn't use dogs, not a very good search IMO.

The priest needs to face charges - he abused a position of authority and trust and she could have died if they hadn't found her when they did. If it's not possible for him to face charges, then he needs to be dismissed from his church. He's not there to give his personal (Outside of the church) opinions to vulnerable people. I take medication for a long lasting condition and if someone like him were to suggest to me that I should go off my meds, I could end up in situation where in the worst case scenario, I might become brain damaged or even die.

I think they did in the beginning at the scene but the scent was lost.
