The wife of a local resident missing since Sept. 9 is hoping someone will come forward with information about the whereabouts of her husband.

But there has been scant information available since Javier Romero left his Calipatria residence without telling anyone where he was going.

Calipatria, California September 27, 2011 - On Monday night, a KSWT News 13 viewer watching our missing person's story contacted authorities about a possible sighting of 52-year-old Javier Romero of Calipatria. We spoke to the Romero family by phone while authorities were giving them the news.

"The Yuma County Sheriff's Office actually contacted the Calipatria Police around 7 o'clock," said Jesus Romero, Javier's 16-year-old son. "And they actually said a woman saw him on Somerton Avenue and 8th Street (in Yuma County)"
