Does anyone know if his 88 yr old mother still alive? She should be arrested too!

Somewhere today it was reported that he was currenty being investigated for elder abuse. She may very well know nothing and is just another victim of this freak.

On Jaycee's Charley Project page there is a picture of a woman and a sketch that look very similar to each other. The picture of the woman is also found on the pages of Michaela Garecht and Ilene Misheloff, but the sketch is not. Since the sketch on Jaycee's page looks a lot like Garrido's wife, I wonder if he also took Michaela and Ilene.

I wonder if Jaycee ever saw those two girls anywhere at his house.

Im sure Jaycee loves her girls but I think it would be really hard on Jaycees mom to meet her granddaughters.......It will be a constent reminder of the man who hurt her child!
I sure hope this family can overcome the past and concentrate on a new life.

It'll be hard for Jaycee and the girls too to forget their paternity, but except for his trial, he can be effectively dead to them now.

Maybe Elizabeth Smart or the girl in Austria could help her... they could certainly relate to her circumstances.
Not all life in CA is fast paced. Maybe Jaycee can find a smaller, rural community where she is comfortable. I hope she gets to see her old teacher and school-mates too...

I was just re-reading the thread. LinasK, this is in no way a criticism, but think about this -- 18 years since she sat in that 5th grade. The 11 year old school classmates are long gone -- time has taken them away and they are now 29/30 years old. South Lake Tahoe was a sleepy combo small-town and resort in 1991. Some convention hotels were moving in. Now, the properties are listed on Southeby's. It is transitioning to the ultra-rich just like Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Her parents moved away from there. The life taken from her by kidnapping also moved on in time at warp speed and Jaycee didn't get to make that transition at a day by day pace -- it is being thrown at her in one huge time-speed reality.

Nope! He's just a sperm source. Slam an iron door down on any further thoughts of their paternity. They are wonderful, fabulous little girls to have survived this and society welcomes them with open arms. They don't need to delve into paternity any more than that.

Oh I know they will cherish these little girls and I can't imagine how happy they are right now to have Jaycee home. I was just sayin' the knowledge of what Jaycee and her daughters have endured at the hands of this monster must be and probably always will be torturous for all of them.
God grant them the strength to overcome all of it. raying:

Actually, it's believed James Daveggio and Michelle Michaud- both on Death Row for the rape and murder of Vanessa Sampson are responsible for the disappearance of Ilene Misheloff. Michelle does resemble the sketch though...
I do hope this brings renewed interest to Ilene's case- I see her parents often and my heart breaks for them.

With all due respect, how do we know that she knew anything? She could have a lot of physical ailments, mental ailments...dementia, Alzheimers.....lets wait and see before we rush to judgement of EVERYONE. Remember, even the perp in Austria had a wife who was clueless. She may very well be a victim of him as well...it sounds like he was excellent in having control over people.

Ummm, I have to disagree with your characterization of S. Tahoe as a whole. Yes, there are casinos there and there is also much wilderness and camping, motels,homes, rental properties,- any price range you want. In fact, I was just there 2 weeks ago. Tahoe is not only for the uber-rich, and it really hasn't changed much in the last 20 years, other than Caesar's Palace becoming the MontBleu and some development around the casino/Stateline area. I go there 1-2x/year. Even in Ski season-(Tahoe is a year-round resort), you can find ski condos and cabins for rent at a reasonable rate. I know this.
In fact, the town of Meyers, which is where I believe I read Jaycee was abducted from, is actually outside the Tahoe basin by probably a good 30 miles. Adnoid, can you help me out here?
One more thing, Southeby's is not just based in London, they are local to us now, so they can't be just for the rich, I have a friend who works out of their office.

Just found out this news after not having time for the internet in the past couple of days.
As happy as I am that this missing child was found alive my blood is absolutely BOILING at the news of this sick F*ck and his equally-if-not-worse wife....
I love to scroll the missing child sites...always hope I will be able to help at least one...I have read Jaycee's story MANY a time...
this poor girl...18 years of absolute HELL...and her poor parents...18 years of wondering if your child is being tortured, raped, beaten, or worse, dead...
I am SO p*ssed off...I wish they would let me alone in a room with this sick f*ck and his sicko wife.

I don't know where to click for the camera icon.

When you zoom onto the house from the top you will see little camera icons appear along the streets. Double click on the one that is right in front of Garrido's neighbor's driveway (1544 Walnut). It will swoop down to street level and enter a bubble which allows you to view the house fronts from the perspective of a car driving down the street. You can use the <hand> to rotate around and view all angles -- a panorama view. You will see a rusty old van in the driveway. There is a driver in the driver's seat but you cannot be sure of that until you double click on the next camera (1556 Walnut) and then rotate back around to look at the driveway. You will see that the van is now pulled forward to the front of the driveway. As you click through each successive camera going south down Walnut Street then turning right on Bown Lane, you can look back and see that van from Garrido's driveway following you. It seems that when Google Earth sent its camera can through this neighborhood, Garrido (or someone from that household) happened to pull out and follow the van for a couple of blocks. When you get to the corner of Bown and Viera you get the last glimpse and can clearly see a man's arm in the driver's window. There may be a passenger but there are a lot of shadows in the van.

I read that the pedophile abductor (he's not worthy of calling by a name) was taking the "two cute little girls" around with him. One was to a glass place who bought business cards because the male owner felt sorry for him! This guy was acting totally nutty and bizarre according to the owner, running around with cute little girls, yet he did nothing. Neighbors had to of seen the girls and did nothing. Parole officers did nothing. Relatives of these abductors did nothing. Police only pointed the finger at the stepfather who tried to tell what happened. Thank God for the campus officers, but they were probably only trying to protect the reputation and start of school for the university. At least someone finally did something. I don't think I can read about this anymore because it is very upsetting to wonder how many more women and children may be imprisoned out there with no one listening or paying any attention.

Wow.

Ok. I think this is a good thing. She WAS allowed out of the "compound" and did have interaction with other people. This and the fact that she so instantly connected with her mom are good things, IMO. There is hope for Jaycee. Don't know about her daughters, but they were out in the world with him with the officer at Berkeley spotted them, so maybe there is hope for them as well.
