Joe Montana's grandchild nearly kidnapped at his Malibu home

Football great Joe Montana and his wife, Jennifer, faced down a would-be kidnapper at their Malibu home this weekend, saving their 9-month-old grandchild from being taken.

Montana told police an unknown woman entered the residence on Saturday and took his grandchild from a playpen, where the child was sleeping.

As the suspect held the child, Joe and Jennifer Montana, "confronted the female, attempted to de-escalate the situation, and asked for the suspect to give back their grandchild.”

"A tussle ensued and Mrs. Montana was able to safely pry the child out of the suspect’s arms.”

The suspect then fled, after which the Joe flagged down deputies patrolling and told them what had happened. After a search, deputies arrested Sodsai Dalzell, a 39-year-old woman, and charged her with kidnapping and burglary. Bail was set at $150,000.

Could she just be a nutcase that found an open door, and stumbled upon a sleeping baby?

It seems if it was a targeted professional kidnapping, she would have been in and out quicker, with a driver out front, ready to whisk them away? IDK?

I wish her FB was still up. We can usually recognise the whack jobs quickly. Sometimes it's obvious.

What a frightening experience for the Montana's. Can you imagine, if that woman had been able to grab that poor baby and run off---people would be possibly accusing Joe Montana and his wife of disappearing their grand baby? What a nightmare.....

Who Is Sodsai Dalzell? Woman Charged for Attempted Kidnapping of Joe Montana’s Grandchild

Sodsai Predpring Dalzell
was born and raised in Thailand and is currently living in Los Angeles, California.
Professionally, she became a certified customs specialist in 2019.

AGE 39 Years
October 16, 1980
Los Angeles, California

According to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, an identified woman entered the Montanas’ Malibu home on September 26. She grabbed their 9-month-old grandson, who was in a playpen, and tried to leave with the child.

The woman took the child from a playpen in the living room and walked upstairs where Montana and his wife confronted her, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
At this time, and based on multiple factors, LASD sources believe the incident was random and not pre-meditated. Detectives interviewed the Montanas this morning.

Joe and Jennifer Montana tried to “de-escalate the situation,” and asked the woman to give back their grandchild. Jennifer was able to successfully pry the child out of the woman’s hands after a tussle, officials said.

The woman fled, but was arrested soon after. L.A. County deputies were reportedly in the same block and were alerted about the attempted kidnapping. They were able to nab the woman who was only a few blocks away, per the department.

Sodsai Dalzell was ID’d by police and charged with burglary and kidnapping. Her bail has been set for $150,000. She is currently in custody at the Century Regional Detention Facility in L.A. She is scheduled for her first court date on September 29.

Woman denies attempted kidnapping of Joe Montana grandchild

-Sodsai Predpring Dalzell of Los Angeles pleaded not guilty in LA County court to felony counts of attempted kidnapping of a child under 14 and burglary.

“Miss Dalzell is extremely apologetic and is very well concerned about the well-being of the family,” Dalzell's attorney Ayinde Jones said outside of court. “She understands the harm that this has caused the family, friends and also fans of the Montana family. So our heart goes out to them.”

Jones said he plans to present a credible defense, “focused on ensuring that Miss Dalzell gets the help that she may need.”

The attorney said he has “no hindsight, no clue as yet on why she did what she did, only that she is very apologetic. She has told me over and over again that she understands the harm that she has caused. As a parent myself, I can only imagine the pain that it has caused the Montana family.”

Dalzell's bail was set at $200,000 and she was told to return to court Oct. 20. She could get eight years in prison if convicted as charged. She has no previous criminal record.

From the above articles, I am thinking she was a petty burglar, sneaking around Pacific Coast Highway Beach properties, looking for a way into a home.

Those homes are right on the beach, and surprisingly, people often go out through the deck onto the sand, and leave their doors briefly opened....so burglars are known to walk along the beaches, looking for opportunities to sneak into garages or patios...

JUST SAW THIS:
"Suspect Dalzell entered the home from the beach, and snatched the child in the home. The child was eventually wrestled out the arms of Dalzell who escaped to PCH."

One of the articles said she was found at a friend's home, down the block. So maybe she was visiting friends, went for a walk---but she was either high/drunk or had a mental health crisis?

My friends had a similar experience at a vacation beach house in Santa Monica. They were all sitting out on the upstairs balcony, enjoying the view. My friend went downstairs, and a 'friendly, smiley' stranger was sitting at kitchen counter, eating a bowl of cereal. o_O

"Ummm, hello?' Who are you?

The lady smiled and said she loved the front yard, it was so inviting, 'hope I am not a bother, I will be gone when I finish my Wheat Chex...' LMAO

My friend walked backwards to the side door, ran outside and yelled to her family to leave quickly by outside steps...the lady disappeared....She didn't seem to have taken anything and even put her bowl in the sink...

deleted overnight?
she's in custody so who deleted it??

Probably family. They could easily get her password from her. It could be accessible just on her home computer, phone or laptop.

First they turned off and deleted comments. Then it was gone.
