OBE: ??? That wasn't edited out. Everyone who watched heard him clearly say this, and that is why the DT wanted to edit that part out from being heard.

IA: The online video is quite clear: I was definitely the last person he saw." In this or another interview, he goes on to add another interesting statement: "I was the last person to talk to him about 5:30. He was at his desk. He pauses and then realizes potential danger and quickly adds: I know because I heard the kids in the background . . .
Unless you're the CNN editor you have no idea what was initially said by CM durning the interview and what CNN chose to air.

Is it the defense that wants a week off or is this about the new faro scan witness, which would be the prosecution?

Either way....they have all had enough time to prepare for this trial, there should be no delays.
It’s the defense. The prosecution has one witness not available until the 12th so they are going to do a conditional rest. The defense said they are not ready. The judge asked if they would be ready tomorrow and they said next week.

What we DO know is that those words came from his lips. Whether they are damaging or not is another issue.

If "I was definitely the last person who saw him" is taken to be a confession, then there is hardly any need for the rest of the testimonies. A confession is certainly more powerful than the phone pings, check writing, similarity between the digitized truck image and the defendant's truck...

All of the above needs to be taken TOGETHER. This utterance by itself, does not mean as much. But when taken with backdated, deleted , fraudulent checks, and headlights leaving the home the look like Chases' truck, and cells pings from Chases' phone that follow along where the killer would be...all together it is quite incriminating.

It was the defense that said they were not ready to go.

Its Merritts truck. Maybe an exact replica though. Maybe DK bought and then artfully duplicated Merritts vehicle, always a possibility.

Tailpipe? Geesh, by the time LE got the truck, the tailpipe, tailpipe hanger, or the complete muffler assembly might have been replaced. Why are they using that as a reference point?

That must be it :D

It surprises me that the defense needs until Monday to start their case. They had a lot of bluster in their OS---introducing their stellar team of experts, one by one, giving all of their prestigious credentials...and none of them are ready to go?

This is what happens when the prosecution doesn't play by the rules.

That shouldn't have effected the defense, they were hot to trot and ready to go with their case, to say nothing of the 4 years they had to prepare.

Then it must be a blur.
However, if you stare at it for several minutes without blinking it does look a little bit like Bigfoot.

Or just maybe it’s down to the fact they are trying to scramble as it’s not gone as well as they expected so far so they delaying to buy time.

And this is coming from me who thinks the prosecution have not been fantastic so far. But the defense saying they are not ready is a joke as they knew the prosecution was resting.

This is not some grand conspiracy to frame Chase Merritt!!
