It's not the defense's fault they weren't informed about a witness as they should have been according to the rules.

Why do you keep saying they were 'not informed?' The State announced the addition of this witness a week or two ago. We saw it here and discussed it upstream.

So any views on the car comparison? I thought it was fab.

The first shot of the square headlights and the distance between them and then the two spotlight style lights reflected on the ground and recreated by the FARO image of CM’s vehicle were ace!
I thought it was great, too. Have to give it to the DT, though. They are working hard for their client. I can only wonder how CM feels looking at these exhibits. His truck, his sagging tail light. In the future the technology will probably show actual occupants. Couldn't help thinking , when looking at the back of the truck, was that poor family lying in the back?

And when did we hear testimony that the back of his truck was painted, along with the latches? Are they referring to the outside or the inside?

What do you think the light on the side of the truck is, the one above the tail light?

I thought it was just an artifact? Smith tried to explain it. Not sure he was convincing? And really, does it make a difference? Up to the jury to evaluate,IMO.

A reflection from the Michley house? Assume the motion triggered an outside light maybe and the recording. Or could be a street light.

What I did hear though was compelling. Am sure the jury will be thinking the same. Don’t forget a few mins later someone was writing a rather large cheque made payable to the person accused of driving that vehicle...chase merritt.

Yes statistically speaking to have a truck that’s 95% looks like Chase’s leave the home and then somebody writing out a check for Chase Merritt minutes later it’s oretty damning IMO

Pretty damning indeed. It's all fitting, and coming together now.

I think it was "Wile E Coyote, but it may have been "Road Runner"... o_O

Or maybe it's one of the four people whose DNA was found at the grave site, who will testify how Chase forced them to bury the victims for him.

The prosecution has yet to have an explanation about the DNA at the grave site.

Well we are poised to hear from the DT on that. If only L&C would let us.:(

In addition the front marker lights under the headlights are too narrow. IMO, the vehicle in the home surveillance video is obviously not CM's truck.

I think it’s his truck and add in the fact he was writing a check only moments later it’s fitting together like a jigsaw puzzle.

The defense is going use the transfer DNA defense in the Trooper belonging to CM so I imagine the state will say the same thing.

I mean the defense can't really disagree with a straight face, since they are going to say the same thing about CMs DNA.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander right?

This part confuses me. Did he park further down the road when he remembered to print that check?

I think once he had murdered them he didn’t want his truck on the driveway Incase it was spotted so he quickly left and parked it around the corner or whatever the equivalent is in America coz your roads are different to ours.

And nobody ever spoke to the family again from that moment and his phone was off grid at that time and he pinged at gravesites two days later and and and

I think he parked down the road after he loaded his truck. Better to have the truck down the street in case some rare visitor might stop by. Maybe he wanted to enjoy a few moments of peace and quiet while playing around on the Mcstay home computer.

But the truck is leaving the house so how did he then write the checks at the house if he had already left?

A jigsaw puzzle of mud on a dark night.
