McGyver did testify that CM was at the house when Mcgyver arrived and said (paraphrasing) that CM was the one Summer had told him about, that she didn't like him hanging around, and that he could feel the tension between CM and Summer.

It sure shows Summer was right all along, and had good reasons for not wanting to be around him.

Imo, she knew he was up to no good, and sadly, she was exactly right.

I remember when this incident broke. Never understood how anybody in a million years could have thought that the family just picked up and walked into Mexico, it was such a stupid suggestion. Kind of like so many missing person cases when the police dismiss suspicious circumstances and indicate that maybe the missing just walked away from their lives and left no trace, leaving behind their money and never using their credit cards, etc. Money or love, always, usually money.

I will never understand it either, Tuff.

The police should have known from minute one this family just didnt up, and leave everything behind.

The McStays were in the middle of the best times of their lives, with dreams coming true, and such a promising bright future for all of them.

Good morning. Don't want to breakup the flow of conversation but I do have a question. What are your thoughts (everyone) on the paint drip on SM's bra?

This makes me feel so sorry, and heartbroken for Summer.

She knew without a doubt CM wasn't someone who should be around her family. No wonder she was being so vocal about him.

Her gut instincts were so right.

I do think Joey had finally had his fill of CM too, and knew Summer had been right all along.

When they were going to finally separate themselves from this creep, he killed them all.

Morning. I think the paint was wet in the paint tray, and when he murdered Summer she was close to the wet paint when she fell getting on her bra.

Wasnt her sweatshirt also found or,was it her sweatpants? If so, he may have had her remove her top before he attacked her.

Summer certainly wouldnt willingly be dressed in only her bra with CM being anywhere near her. Imo, he gave her the creeps, and for good reason.

She had no choice in the matter how she was dressed when he tossed her in the grave.

Like the sweatpants, it's one of the more baffling pieces of evidence. I would have thought they might have brought in a tragectory expert in to testify but maybe they are just leaving it to the jury's interpretation.

The dogs were left by themselves and Animal Control was called to investigate.

The dogs were inside dogs. No dog door. A bag of dog food was busted open for them. Animal Control left a notice.

^ABOVE^

That would have been enough for me to tell myself something is very wrong.

The same for me as McG said the same Bear went everywhere with Summer. He was her guardian angel.

Yes, and it was well known how much they loved, and cared for their dogs. They wouldn't have ever left them to fend for themselves outside.

CM put the dogs outside so they wouldnt be in the way of him cleaning up the evidence inside.

But there were so many other things that should have alerted the police immediately this family did not leave their home willingly.

Never in my life, before this one, have I seen any PD rely on a back view of anyone to make a positive ID. Never.

Have the police ever done that in any line up to identify a possible suspect? Absolutely not because it's ridiculous to ask anyone to ID someone using only a back view of the person.

To this day, I will never understand why they were so inept, and clueless or lazy. I've not seen one other missing persons case handled this way, and I hope I never see another one like it in the future.

I agree, and he has no history of violence. So letting the jury know his history would just show that stealing is his usual m.o., but violence/murder is not.
Plenty of murserers started out with lower level 'non violent' criminal histories. That seems common with those who also had addictions of some kind which fueled their crimes. So the need to steal for drugs or gambling debts may eventually create VIOLENT CIRCUMSTANCES in many cases.

I keep seeing references to this story but can anyone provide a link to support its truth? Or is this just rumor?

It is true and has been linked the someone made the comment. But we do not know if the commenter is credible or not.

I just asked the L & C folks if they would have a camera in court tomorrow. The guy said he would have to ask. He hasn't answered me yet.

The description was that it was transverse, as though she was lying on her side. And it dried without smearing.

Painting is messy. Sometimes we contort into strange positions to get certain spots. Sometimes the drips will dry without being smeared.

Still.... no answer. I'm thinking they would know if they had a camera there or if they had a plan to be there.

I believe it was from a long ago blog, lost in the mists of time. It would probably take forever and a day to find it, if one could do so at all.

I found it before by googling the quote and it comes to a screenshot others have blogged
