First of all I don’t have an agenda.

Read my post again and pay attention to the BBM.

MM might have made the comment related to the shallow graves in early 2010 (that came up in testimony yesterday) because of the connection LE was making to Mexico at that time. He also suggested a possibility of trafficking of the children at that time. Cartels are involved in trafficking and burying victims in shallow graves. Those are facts. I was just merely suggesting this could have been a reason MM made the comment he did. NO AGENDA.
BBM, I am not stating that you do have an agenda. If you go to page # 5 of this thread you can read the post in full. As i put RSBM, they are the moderators words not mine, and i only snipped the first portion of the post by the mod.
I was mostly concerned about should we be discussing it at all because it has nothing to do with the Trial. From what was said here it was an interview with MM according to the poster that said that and not evidence at trial. That's all.

It's the strangest defense strategy I ever saw.

They had Mike back specifically to infer he did it, so how on earth are they going to put on their case that Dan did it? They remind me of headless chickens.
Maybe they still can't locate Dan to testify. I wonder if they put his ex-gf on without him how that would look. I would think they need to produce him first. There needs to be some foundation.

Maybe they are trying to link that both Mike and Dan were complicit in the murders. They did know one another. That's the only angle I can think of.

Yes! That makes perfect sense. It's not that far at all from the house and is open 24/7 with no metering or cost.

Or he parked it at the Nessie truck stop over the freeway.

There is only one killer on Trial and charged with the murders and that is Chase Merritt. There are no other killers charged with this crime.

Yes only one is being charged, but not convicted. No one knows how many killers are involved. No one can exclude that possibility yet. "No other killers charged" does not mean no other killers involved.

Didn't Joseph McStay have more than one laptop? Didn't sources close to JM say he also owned a Hewlett-Packard?
The Dell laptop was listed in the San Diego Sheriff’s warrants as being in the kitchen. This is the one Mike removed from the home and later returned.

Oh, so he did remove one laptop? I thought he said in the testimony he only removed a hard drive and not laptop?

How can that be an issue? Almost all bodies buried in the desert are buried in "shallow graves".
I've lived in the High Desert for 29 years, before that in the Scottsdale/Phx area for 29 years. When a body is found buried in the desert, it's in a "shallow grave". It's the soil and lack there of: caliche, granite, sand, very large rocks, etc.
Unless you have a backhoe, and then you have a good chance of busting the teeth on the bucket.
Fence companies use hydraulic post pounders and augers because it's so labor intensive. You're lucky to get to 18" with a manual post hole digger or a shovel.
It takes me an HOUR to dig a 8' deep x 6' long x 8' wide with an extend-a-hoe to bury a horse in. I've been operating heavy equipment for 26 years, digging septics. leach lines, electrical, and gas lines.
No, "shallow graves" is NOT an issue, it's a fact.

The remark was "TWO adult shallow graves...".

No, it was just clarified a few posts ago that MM supposedly removed the desktop E Machine tower as per what MM stated.

He is not convicted Yet. The trial isn't done. And yes, LE charged the killer with the murders of the McStay family.
There is no other information by LE anyone else is involved.

Well what's the surprise with that? Two adults were missing.

And? Your point? Two adult shallow graves has been discussed up thread.

The issue is not bodies being found in the desert. The issue is bodies being found in two shallow graves.

Per YOUR post, I don't see "ADULT" there.

Good point, I wonder if that's their aim. Strange though that they didn't work on that aspect of them keeping EIP going after the murders. I suppose if there's no dirt there's no dirt, although he was excused subject to recall.

About the missing laptop... So MM said he didn't take JM's laptop? But I remember a while ago Force Ten said MM took JM's laptop (as opposed to desktop).

I'm so confused about this missing laptop.

Well what's the surprise with that? Two adults were missing.

When a murderer kills two adults, is it more common that he buries them together in one grave, or that he buries them in two separate, adjacent graves?

And then there were two baby victims.

If I were a juror I would take the K.I.S.S. approach and ask:
1) Who would the toddler boys be able to identify?
2) Of those people who gained the most from having the McStays dead?

I don't think there is a missing laptop from the San Diego SW's. A Dell laptop was seized from the McStay home by LE as well as two desktop computers. I read somewhere else that a HP laptop of JM's was missing, and it was thought to be the laptop CJ stated to San Bernadino investigators was stored in AZ at her mother's place per those warrants.

I don't know what is more common but I don't see why he should have thought one way or the other. He was speaking of two adults and he made the point that he feared they were murdered by referring to two graves.

It's looking like a case of confirmation bias to me.
