Nope. I don't have the time right now, but it all kinda goes along with the motion for mistrial, etc from what I understand at the moment. Sounds like Rudin sent something to Imes, Imes is denying receiving it, could possibly be a hearing on it... the judge is willing to do that, but not in the middle of Rudin's testimony... Part 2 is worth a listen for sure LOL

I can say one thing that I am certain of, and that is if he is convicted or there is a hung jury, this will go on and and on... *sigh*

ETA: There was a hearing yesterday and it sounds like we may have missed a bunch of stuff in regards to the motion today... Thanks L&C...

I wonder if L&C can get the audio of the hearing (apparently yesterday afternoon since they only had morning testimony)?

In part 5 I believe Dr Rudin is starting to say he believes he was rejected because he asked for an experiment but the objection drowned him out before he could finish his sentence.

I will struggle if there is a hung jury. I don't think that is in the offing, but if so, so be it.
As long as he is not free to roam and hurt another being, I am good with that. MOO

What do you mean it will go on, and on if there is a conviction? Go on where?

Do you mean the appellate process? Its well known CA has one of the longest appeal processes in the nation. Although it was said last year they are trying to find ways to shorten the years it takes.

I can understand if it's a hung jury where the case will be retried. But why if a conviction?

Oh do you mean the lengthy time it will take in the sentencing phase if convicted? If so, on that I agree. They are like mini trials themselves.

Imo

Part 6 from today

that writer has not been there all along right?
I find it odd that she just shows up & starts tweeting at the end of a trial
I wonder if she's already written a book and just wanted to be there for closing/to drum up attention for an upcoming release

Well, that if CM is convicted, there’ll be a massive number of appeals—but anyone would have said that before the trial began—it’d have been true no matter how cleanly and fairly the trial was conducted.

MOO, of course

Actually, you seem to be right—looks like she’s releasing a book about Chris Watts, soon. Ugh!

So defence hasn't closed, People called Lauren Knowles as a witness out of order.

Weird—what was that all about? Maybe she lives fairly far away, and they thought the defense would be done?

#McStay - Today the state called Lauren Forest-Knowles to the stand. The judge allowed them to call her out of order since the defense is still presenting witnesses. She was Dan Kavanaugh's girlfriend at the time the McStay family disappeared.

Yes, all cases like this are automatically appealed. SOP.

#McStay - Forest-Knowles testified she was with Dan Kavanaugh in Hawaii January 2010 to February 17, 2010. She said she was with him every day in that time period. This boarding pass was shown in court. She testified DK was in the seat next to her on the plane home Feb 17, 2010

Thanks.

Well that explains a lot. It seems the judge has finally realized he must give the jury full days of testimony as possible.

The only reason for Dr Rudin to be on the stand was to answer two key questions:

Was CM's truck included as a possible match for the video or was it excluded.

At the start of number 5, we actually got down to that question, at the start of the video.

Here is my watered down, filtered transcript of that question...there are more words than I typed, but I stayed just to the question and relevant portion of the answer:

McGee:So Are you saying you can exclude the white truck?

Rudin:No that is NOT what I am saying..I would use the term ‘reject’, but with further data to cross validate it…I would need more data…and would require further examination….

OBJECTION

Rudin:...blah blah blah....blathers on about the proposed experiment...blah blah blah...

McGee: So Based on the data you have now…is the white truck rejected?

OBJECTION…overruled, you may answer if it is your opinion...

Rudin: Based on the data I have I render a rejection yet I also say that an experiment can overrule my rejection…but right now I don’t see a reason or know if I would overrule it or not…

LOL, they didn’t even recross Rudin because he helped the PT on his own…

I’m completely confused. And he wants more data, and time? When did he start on this project, and why didn’t the defense, (he’s their witness), give him the data?

Yeah - the judge got scammed as well over Riccobene

Without her, the DK angle is never allowed.

I think it was a lucky stroke for the prosecution. It made the defense look really silly today when they put up that boarding pass and the picture on her IG of her and DK in Hawaii . :p

I am confuzzled. How did it happen that the DT sat back and let the PT examine Lauren Knowles?

He is adamant that it needs to be totally redone from scratch, with the vehicle, video with the same camera, backing out of the driveway at the same time of night, so I guess in the same month? lmao

and one thing I left out of my description was, he was asked by McGee, something like ' if you could have the time and resources to recreate the incident then you could make a determination...'

and Rudin answered something like, ' well yes, but even then, there could be other questions...there is no perfect experiment...' o_O

He is a great mathematician but a lousy trial expert witness because he its so squishy
