@MichaelCorleone @missy1974 do you recall if there were other emails in the string to put this particular email into context?

Until @Tortoise posted it, I had never seen it LOL

I do not recall if there was a "string" of emails, but I did see the RE: so not sure if that is something that Joey put in or if it was an actual reply.

Yes, they do, and I believe this witness helps the prosecution. They were able to read the jury the original testimony of hers, where she said he hadn't been to her home in years, She used to meet him at CoCo's.

But now she claims she was out of her mind at that time. I think she is lying now, and it is up to the jury to decide for themselves-----is she lying now or was she lying then?
Yeah she didn't come across as believable to me. She first said she hadn't seen him in 5 years, now she's saying not at her home but saw him about every six months. Is that right? Smith stated she was coherent and quite talkative and she says she was bumbling, drooling idiot out of her mind.

The part I loved the most is that Bennett drove himself to her place. But she said everyone drove him everywhere because he didn't have a license and Bennett is such an angel, he'd never break the law.

What is she hiding about Bennett?

I'm not sure I agree.

He said overpaid and then wrote 'plus' the other two projects, and added that to the overpaid subtotal, so I think it's clear it's money Chase owed to Joey and not the other way around.

I asked this yesterday... was the Provecho project the one that they were waiting for the insurance cheque from?

Seems strikingly different from what Smith testified to and wrote in his report.

Okay, so if they have not talked to her since that interview with Smith, how can they say she is lying? She is saying today, that she does not even remember the interview, and does not remember Smith. Did they show a statement between then and now that shows something different?

Because he has been debilitated by a heart attack which required stents and this affected his memory. Keep in mind after having these stents he went to Mexico to get viagra. His words. Offered it up voluntarily.

Bawahahahaha!

I know that she says that now. But that doesn't mean I believe it.

So you are also saying then that she did not just have surgery back then and she was not on pain killers? And she didn't have strokes?

It it isn’t clear that he is not saying Chase overpaid him. Twist it like the defense attorneys are going to. It can be twisted. IMO

It is oddly worded LOL If we had other spreadsheets or emails with the same kind of totals to compare it to, it would be helpful. I wonder if they have those?

Here's the thing though. Didn't Chase also say something to the effect that Joey would owe him, and then he would owe Joey, and then Joey owe him, etc? And that it all balanced out in the end? Because imo if Joey was overpaying Chase by literally thousands of dollars, that sort of supports what Chase claims. Joey overpays, Chase owes, but then Joey owes him again for something else...on and on... Otherwise I can't imagine why Joey would be overpaying Chase thousands of dollars in the first place. Maybe they just had an unconventional arrangement as to how they did business.
Yep. The defendants words.

What specifically did she lie about?
She previously stated that she had not seen CM in 5 years although she doesn’t recall that statement because she was on pain meds and drooling. Then she suddenly remembers she had since seen CM in a moment of mental clarity. Would you agree that it is a contradiction? Some of us refer to this as a lie more than embellishment. To each his or her own...

...if that side of the face is paralyzed that they're drooling from.
oh cmon... did you see the video? is that someone that looks "healthy"?

No that can't be because he already told the detectives in the recorded interview on 17th Feb 2010 that the $15K was what he owed Joey, then he was telling them that with the money due on Paul Mitchell and Saudi Arabia (26K) Joey would owe him 11K.

So the 15K figure is Chase owing Joey and not the other way around. He just conveniently omitted to tell them about the other £27800 for Provecho and Levine that Joey added on to that figure.
Again... is the Provecho fountain the one that was an insurance claim?

What is the Levine one?

The defense has promised to explain this. They have a forensic accountant who will be breaking all this down for us-at least this is what was promised. I think we have to wait and get the other side of this story to really know what occurred there.

BBM. Seriously, HOW DID SHE KNOW? I don't recall anyone else being there during the interview. Did the cat and dog tell her? And if she was so heavily medicated and not in her right mind, why wasn't someone there to make sure she was ok?
Did they ask her if anyone was there? Smith said he didn't go in the house.

.......to say nothing about CM's inability to keep a valid license.......

People get murdered over 6 cans of beer in a kiosk in London at midnight

I am always sceptical about the idea that "this wasn't a good enough reason to murder a whole family"

Someone did actually murder them for no good reason. I mean what reason could make sense to bash in the heads of those wee boys?

How much money is the right amount?

this

  • #818
That could be, but I really think there needs to be an additional email(s) or something to give this email context because it could be interpreted in a lot of different ways imo. Also, why was Joey OVERPAYING Chase in the first place? Where was he getting the money to even do that?

The only rational motive for murder in all this, is if Joey was going to fire Chase. There is no evidence of fraud because there was a check cashed the week of the disappearance, Joey was on the phone with his bank and did not report fraud, did not change passwords, did not call QuickBooks to report unlawful use of that program.

Chase had 100s of thousands more reasons to keep Joey alive, than to kill him.

Can't wait to review her testimony tonight and "see' her. Will let you know.

I’m pretty sure those are the best screenshots available. I’m going to go back and make sure. What we really need are the actual documents, but I don’t suppose we can get them.
