John Leyden was last seen Sept. 1, 2009, at the San Francisco Park Police Department and was believed to be en route to Texas or Washington. Leyden, a known transient who would now be 54, has been classified as a "voluntary missing adult" by the sheriff's office. He was reported missing Feb. 22, 2010, by his estranged wife. He is described as standing 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds, with blue eyes, brown hair and a tattoo reading "Sacramento" on his abdomen. While pulling information for this report, sheriff's office spokesperson Samantha Karges said she came across an attachment from the Seattle Police Department indicating Leyden was booked into jail there on June 12, 2010, at which time Leyden should have been cleared from the missing persons system, "so he should no longer be considered as a missing person."
