The first post says she was last seen at 1731 Esplanade. The apartments here date back to 1951, but there seem to be some newer commercial suites at the same address facing the street. I assume she lived at this address in 1988.

Does anyone find it odd that her roommate didn’t report her missing for 9 days? Does anyone have any information on who the roommate was?

Yes. Articles report she had close friends in Chico and was close to her sister in Sacramento. I, too, am curious about the delay in the report - it sounds as if several people could have made it but did not for some reason (assuming the 9-day info is correct).

I saw articles/CrimeStoppers through 1991 - only additional info provided was that authorities were also alerted in Oregon and Nevada. No mention of vehicle with anything I have seen, I do wonder how she travelled around. Quincy is some 80-ish miles from Chico. Oroville is around 20.
