Ex-husband pleads guilty to murder of former Army veteran and her dog

The ex-husband of a former Army veteran pleads guilty to 2nd-degree murder in her death.

Dalen Ware faces 15 years to life for the murder of his ex-wife, Julia Jacobson, and her dog, the San Bernardino District Attorney's Office confirmed Monday afternoon.

Looks like he took a plea bargain, sentencing will be 10/15/18 at 8:30am.

Dalen Ware will be formally sentenced for the murder of Julia on Oct. 15 and her family will be present to make a victim impact statement and they have asked friends and anyone who knew her to also attend the hearing and make a statement of their own if they so wish.

I have not seen any media articles that state how, when and where Julia and Boogie were killed.
Maybe its been released and I just missed it. Its possible that information is listed in court documents and not available to the public. I am curious what means of transportation Ware used that Labor Day weekend to get to SoCal and did he drive her car back to San Diego and if so how did he leave San Diego. The logistics and motive of this crime remains a mystery to me maybe one of our WS members can answer some of these questions. TIA.

I suppose I'm thankful for Julia's family there will be no long drawn-out trial but I do hope Ware does not get a soft judge. I haven't gone back over the things that I have read and watched about Julia's case as I found it so upsetting. It seemed like Julia had worked hard to get away from Ware but as so often happens lost her life at this most dangerous point of leaving an abusive relationship.

Second degree? I'm not so sure about that, Ware seemed to have put a lot of thought into this trip. I wondered what the threat or lure was that he used to get Julia to meet him by herself? I do not think it can be said enough times that it is highly dangerous to go for that "last meeting" with an abusive ex-partner. Just don't do it ever. Hoping that Ware gets as long a sentence as possible, he will always be a danger to women around him.
