If it is little Juliani, I so hope that LE can do something to keep the media away until they notify his mom. Poor thing.

Well...so much for that hope. His poor mother. I can't even imagine her state of mind right now hearing this on TELEVISION!!!

The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department said Tuesday morning it's responding to the report of a child's body found in the Delta-Mendota Canal near Gustine. Sheriff's officials did not immediately say if the body found was connected to the Amber Alert situation, but later Tuesday morning Merced County Sheriff's Department Public Information Officer Tom MacKenzie said the body does match the description of Juliani Cardenas.

This team has been very very professional. I would be stunned if the mother was not informed first.

Me too. I am sure they sent a chaplain or a family liaison officer.

Oh I hope so. I saw on FB that someone heard channel CW31 was going to have a news conference in 30 mins. If they do, I hope LE confirms they told his mother before the media. :(

This is so sad, my heart is breaking for the poor mother. It didn't sound like there could be any other outcome, but this is still so awful to hear.

I'm really upset with that farmer. If it would have been me I would have turned around and jumped in the water to try and save the little boy.

I understand your frustration, but we don't know the circumstances. If it hadn't been for him they wouldn't have even known to look in the canal.

If we want to blame someone, let's blame the man who drove the car into the canal.

Stanislaus County Sheriff's spokesman Royjindar Singh said there would be a news conference in Patterson between 11 a.m. and noon today.
Singh did not know who found the body, when it was found or any other circumstances.
Detectives recovered the body at mid-morning, he said.
Juliani's family was alerted that a body had been found, Singh said.

I'm not blaming the farmer at all but I do think that this little boy could have quite possibly been saved if the man would have turned around and tried to at least help get him out or called 911 immediatly. I am just frustrated with the fact that he saw the car go into the canal that had a little boy in it & he didn't even as so much call 911 or at least turn around to help.

I watched Nancy Grace on Friday and they were talking about how the farmer saw the little boy in the car and that he looked in the mirror and saw the car going into the canal. I don't get why he couldn't have so much as called 911 to at least report it giving the fact that a child was involved!

He was an older gentleman, in shock and scared. His son had to convince him to come forward to the police. Thank goodness he did or else Juliani may never have been found.

If he had turned his car around and jumped in, there would be three bodies in that canal, instead of 2 and we may not have ever known Juliani was in that canal.

Look at this beautiful boy! It's just not fair. This 🤬🤬🤬 ripped Juliani from his family. Sorry I can't tell if I'm more sad or mad. What did this sweet boy do ever do to him??? I hate it when a child's life is used to get back at another. It's the lowest of the low. Another innocent child is gone for no reason what so ever.

OK I get where you are coming from. Why not call 911 though?

The sheriff said at the news conference on the last days of the canal search that even if someone had a cellphone and called 911 immediately when the car went it, the end result would be the same. They still would be looking for bodies in the canal. There is no way rescue crews would have been able to get there in time to save anyone.
