Stanislaus County Sheriff Adam Christensen said Tuesday that officials have confirmed the body is that of Juliani Cardenas.

This afternoon authorities positively identified the remains as those 4-year-old Juliani Cardenas, whose abduction triggered a statewide Amber Alert.

The mother of a 4-year-old boy kidnapped two weeks ago by her former boyfriend confirmed on her Facebook page that the child's body was discovered Tuesday morning in a Central California canal.

LE and divers did an amazing job, from start to finish. Thank God this little boy was found. I am so sad for his mom and family. But how much worse for him to be in that dirty canal forever...

Father Bernard Quinn of Sacred Heart Catholic Parish in Patterson, who baptized the child, was inside the house Tuesday morning after Tabitha Cardenas and her mother, Amparo Cardenas, learned of the discovery. Juliani was grabbed from Amparo Cardenas' arms in front of their home.

Quinn said the women were holding up amazingly well. "They feel supported and strengthened by the community," he said.

Late Tuesday morning, an ambulance was parked in front of the home where Juliani lived.

Sounds like Tabitha is being monitored.... or I guess the ambulance could have been for her mother too.

When these sort of cases end like this, it doesn't get any easier to accept, no matter how many we've seen before. Each one has the same heartache and despair.

Prayers to the family and friends. May they be granted strength to carry on.

Dad isn't in the picture, never has been to my understanding. IIRC he didn't believe J was his, and never had anything to do with him.

Tabitha said (on NG) that his father has no contact with Juliani.
I guess his sister did contact her on FB when she heard about the abduction, but no word from the child's father.
