My prediction....even if she isn't suffering from PPD....that will be her defense.

We are devastated,” said Justice’s paternal grandmother, Patty Rees, when reached by phone Saturday. “That's all I'm going to say.”

Randy Green, the baby’s grandfather and Green’s father, declined to be interviewed when contacted by The Bee on Saturday.

“It’s too early,” Green said before hanging up.

What besides a mental illness of some sort makes you kill your own child. This is beyond heartbreaking.

Justice is a boy, I thought it was baby girl.

Wow... hadn't checked in a couple of days. Strange that she posted a photo of her preg belly yesterday (?). And, dad has a Go Fund Me account (yesterday)... not sure how I feel about that either.

Sounds like someone else set it up for him, and posted the link on his FB.

I also find it odd that their relationship started in early May, which means she got pregnant almost instantly since she delivered a full term baby in early February.

Yes, you're right. Someone else set it up. Hmm, didn't know about the time frame. Guess he already had 4 kids.

I know how I feel about it. And, there are actually 2 funds going, one at a local bank and one on 🤬🤬🤬 by a family friend. The 🤬🤬🤬 is a straight up plea for money for the family. Yesterday the dad was asking for someone to pay for a car rental. No mention about his son. :(

I am sad for the family and I'm all for giving Justice a proper burial but we don't have the full story yet so JMO I think it's foolish to start throwing money at the family before we know what all happened. BTW, this isn't just about this case, I feel the same way about all funding pleas when a crime has been committed.

Green's family set up a memorial fund called "Justice for Justice" at [a local bank]. They said the money goes to burial costs. Any extra money will go to help set up a charity fund for missing or needy children.

Some harsh comments being left here but a few are interesting - rumors of course:

Interesting. Because one of my main questions now is whether the baby was planned or not. Hard to believe one would plan a baby with someone you just started dating. Especially someone with 4 little kids at home already.

Well, I don't want to be judgmental, but https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...277509.-2207520000.1425175948.&type=3&theater

I hear you, I thought her mug shot looked like one of the "faces of meth" that you see from time to time. She may very well have had PPD, though, and was overwhelmed. Also, on his fb page, there is a friend of his named MariLena (?), and she wrote him to call her right now. I think it was Monday night and isn't that the day Samantha went missing? This is not looking good, I can only think of the mothers and grandmothers right now, though. What is it with the drug/gang/🤬🤬🤬🤬 life/skater lack of motivation going on in our poor country?? And ps, I'm not as naïve as I sound.

Yes, PPD is real. Yes, Post Partum psychosis is real. They are both frightening and horrific conditions to have.

BUT....IF she killed this baby and her defense will be PPD/PPP, I say good luck with that one. It won't fly.

People with PPD/PPP do NOT have the mental capacity to make up stories (LIES) to save their a**es from future consequences.

Another thing that totally irks me, and I know I'm not alone (others just won't post it) is that most every time there is a case here where a woman kills a child, the first "defense" is, "Oh, PPD! PPD!"

When a guy kills a child, it's more like, "I hope that 🤬🤬🤬 rots in hell for eternity. What an evil so-and-so!"

Like I said, I know PPD/PPP is very real and does happen to SOME women, but it is just not so in every.single.case.

It is true that her reaction of telling the cops a false story, placing the blame on someone she knew, does not seem like post partumn depression to me.

I hope I don't get in trouble for this but some comments were saying the dad knew (how could he not?) and that they did meth together even during the pregnancy. Idiots!

Is she smiling in that mugshot??

Does anyone recall the case a year or so ago, when a young woman was found, basically okay, husband dead, and maybe child as well? They were all in the woods or something? And I think meth was involved? Anyway I think she was charged but don't know what ever happened in that case...just wondering. Sounds similar. Jmo

I'm a little fuzzy on the timeline, but...

family who last saw them late Monday morning.

I guess that would be Feb 23rd?

More than 24 hours later, a resident in the area of Ridgecut Slough, heard and saw Green as she yelled for help.

http://fox40.com/2015/02/25/officials-search-for-missing-newborn-baby-in-yolo-county/

She said it was 20 days (old). She was with the baby, that her baby was dead," resident Richard Vallasenior said. He helped Green after she said she crossed the slough, and dialed 911.

And so the frantic search began for Justice Rees.

"All she can remember was that she was abducted here in town," Villasenior said. Villasenior said. "She was pretty bruised up and scratched up. She says she's been out there for about
two days."

And, oddly (is this a mix up and dad is quoted from earlier?)

"I'm kinda like speechless," the baby's father Frank Rees said. "I just hope they're alright. I want our baby back, both of them."
