GUILTY CA - Justice Rees, 2 wks, Woodland, 24 Feb 2015

Something I don't understand: On a February 24 (Tuesday) post at 7:09 am on FB, the dad made a plea for SG to come home. I think it's okay to mention this as it's been reported in a number of msm articles. Anyway, I saw that SG "liked" the post. I can't figure out the timing exactly. There's no time stamp on "likes" so there's no way to tell when she did it.

So... when did she "like" the post and more importantly, why did she take note of it??

Someone mentioned in an earlier comment that she had was active on FB after she had been at the hospital, so she probably "liked" the post then.

My instant thought seeing her mug shot was "meth addict". I think she probably killed the baby accidentally because she was high, and then panicked and took off.

What I want to know is how they can charge her with murder if they don't have a cause or even manner of death yet. Hypothermia or drowning could both potentially be accidental.

Also odd, there was no mention of the pregnancy or the baby on SG's fb page and she only posted a pic of him AFTER he died. Why? Most new mom's, especially 1st time moms, are thrilled and want to share the news and their baby's progress and proudly show them off. FR's mother had spoken of the upcoming birth of her grandson and FR posted pic from when they went to the hospital to give birth, but not a peep from SG.

Also, it was reported that she left the house without supplies to feed him, etc. So now I am curious. Was he a formula fed baby or was he being breastfed. If he was a bottlefed baby then you simply cannot leave home without a bottle for him when he is that young, especially if you are going "visiting" as she intended to do. Then on the other hand, if she were breastfeeding, she would not need bottles BUT then you have to wonder if she was doing drugs and the baby ingested drugs thru the breastmilk.

Yes, I get the feeling that SG was not all that thrilled with her current situation. She had just started dating FR when she got pregnant. Next thing she knows, she is helping him take care of his 4 young kids and about to give birth to the 5th. That was probably very overwhelming.

She looks stoned on her mugshot. Not just tired, but stoned. She looks way way older that I expected too. I don't think she can claim Post Partum Psychosis either. If she were psychotic she would be on a psych ward not released from hospital. Think drugs have played their part in this

I was wondering why she was the one doing the school pickup the day she disappeared and wondered where dad was. Maybe because of his lack of license? I thought it was curious that her MIL stated she was there to help during the day and that the dad would help at night. Who knows?

That baby? The baby? Not "Justice" or "my son?" I watched the video to be sure that's what he said. It's not a big deal, I just found it odd that so soon after Justice's death his dad would be using words that seem to distance him from his baby.

My parents called me "the little one" all their lives, they hardly ever used my name. Also "the baby" may also be "THE baby".

Samantha Green speaks:

"I'm torn apart inside," Green said. "He was my everything. He never left my side."

Green was asked to elaborate on why she was in the slough with her newborn baby in the first place. She had initially made kidnapping claims. Green said she would not go into specifics due to the ongoing investigation and nature of her charges but said she was just trying to protect Justice the night this happened.

"I thought someone was chasing me," Green said. "My main goal was to keep him safe."

"I believe I was drugged or given bad drugs the night this happened," she said.

Samantha would not elaborate further on what kind of drugs, but she did go into more detail about Justice's final moments. She said she was surprised to hear the coroner suggest drowning as a possible cause of death because he was never submerged in water.
...
Green did admit to battling some level of depression both before she had Justice and after. She said she was in good spirits the day she vanished.

"I was depressed before pregnancy and after but that morning, I told Frank 'I just want to be a mom.'"

Interesting that she talks about the night this happened, considering she missed school pickup. So what was she doing, who was she with that she was either drugged or given bad drugs?

Be sure to watch the video.

Way to go to avoid personal responsibility. She was given drugs, as if she had no choice in taking them or not.

Interesting that both her and FR made references to running away or being chased, in separate interviews.

Normally, I wouldn't think much into it. But other cases here when parents are involved or when they feel guilty about something, they stop using the child's name. Could mean something, or it could mean FR just feels guilty but isn't actually involved.

Dad's FB just went offline. I got a couple of SS's a couple of minutes prior. One post about gun training was a little disturbing...

Pre conference heads up from sheriff to media – will not share all details. Nothing in investigation was ignored.

Presser:

Thanks all officers involved. Tragic story, affects everyone. Very emotional.

SG was sole individual responsible. Investigation ongoing, will go to DA's office.

Spoke to numerous individuals, allegations that they couldn't substantiate. Started by only looking at facts – unbiased, no speculation.

Questions:

No motive.

Murder charge – DA will determine level.

Taken into custody at 12:15 this morning following interview.

Can't give specific info on her state of mind. Not addressing medical/mental issues. LE's job was to look at facts.

Looked closely at timeframe – couldn't connect different times until now.

Comments from SG and detective interview are confidential.

More stable yesterday than earlier. More coherent, responsive. Before was “unsure” due to her physical condition. Much emphasis on her physical, mental state when found - took a couple of days.

Claims of assault and abduction – couldn't substantiate at all. Individuals she named could not have been at the location during that time.

Was slow, methodical investigation. Info from facts, family and public information.

Number one priority was finding child. Started as rescue operation.

Doesn't know SG's current state of mind. Wasn't involved in any interrogations.

No criminal record, no info about whether CPS is now involved, haven't contacted them.

ADA will determine which murder charge. Investigation ongoing.

Process of elimination says no one else was involved. Feels she was only one involved in Justice's death.

Had 8 detectives on case, daily debriefings. Hundreds of hours.

Can't reveal lots of the information.

She actually gave them the names of real people that live in the area or that she knows and was trying to throw them under the bus for what she did?! A bushy-haired stranger no one can ever find is one thing; blaming actual innocent people and possibly wrecking their lives? Horrible.
I have a motive now. Taking care of the baby was tiring and boring. She wanted to get rid of the baby and not be blamed. That does not sound psychotic to me. That sounds like sociopaths. And selfishness in its purest form.

If the baby was abducted and she was drugged, how does she know the baby's head was not in the water? Please.

Where was Frank on the day she apparently went missing? I wouldn't doubt drugs were involved, but her story and the way they relayed it doesn't make sense.

Jailhouse Interview with dad:

Holding back tears during a 10 minute interview, Rees told KCRA 3's Leticia Ordaz that he is heartbroken and wants nothing more than to be home with his four other children and mourn the loss.

So I guess he's still in jail. Another news station (can't remember which) said his bail is $120,000. It could be a typo but if not that seems stiff for misdemeanor warrants. For that matter LE could have just issued a warrant to appear. Curious that LE arrested him instead.

From the video transcript:

I JUST SPOKE WITH FRANK REES, HE GRANTED HIS FIRST JAILHOUSE INTERVIEW. HE CRIED THE ENTIRE 10 MINUTES I TALKED TO HIM, SAYING HE SHOULD BE MOURNING THE LOSS OF HIS SON AT HOME, HE SHOULD NOT BE IN JAIL.

Uhm, sorry Frank appears you did something to get there. Geesh. This guy drives me nuts saying he cares about his kids when he ripped off his own father and left them alone for two years? Then says it was ok cause insurance covered it. Gets out, post a pick of him giving the finger and spreading out a wad of twenties. His FB basically said he got married again (in 2013? can't check back now) and people were asking when did he get a divorce or if he did. Has this guy gotten divorced, remarried, divorced, and another woman pregnant since 2012?
