I am not sold on the idea that most courts have, i.e that the goal should generally be to reunite babies/children with birth parents. Imo, matching DNA alone means very little in the scheme of things. Does not equip one to parent. Does not prove love. Does not indicate responsibility. Far too many cases where children are returned to parents, or parents are given access, to children who evidently end up dead. Jmo
I completely agree with you. I worked for an adoption/foster care agency and the stories of parental abuse angered me but what angered me more was how many times the same children were taken out of the home, placed back in the home only to be taken out again; this would go on and on in some cases. By the time the courts decided the children should be removed permanently, the children were older and so scarred that they were not "adoptable". Just a shame!
