Kassandra McKee

Kassandra “Sandy” McKee, 27, has been sought by her parents since early this month. She had been in San Francisco when she called her mother on June 23 to say she was scared and that someone was trying to kill her, according to the account her mother gave the news site Mendo Fever. McKee said she planned to take a bus back to Ukiah the next day, but she never showed up.

During the search for her, Mendocino County deputies learned she had been a passenger in a stolen car that was pulled over by police on San Francisco’s Mission Street on June 21, Mendo Fever reported. She was not considered a suspect in any crime and was released.

A store owner who read the report of McKee’s disappearance provided a surveillance video image showing the woman at 1:51 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, in the Sav More Mart on Third Street, in San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood

McKee’s mother told Mendo Fever that the young woman is affected by mental illness and is financially dependent on her parents.
