In the midst of this Jackson family crisis, let's remember the Man - Michael Jackson - and his Music.

I wonder what condition Katherine is in? I can't see her not wanting to see the children.

I guess they must have rented something in Arizona to take her too with her paying, of course. What the hell are they doing? They sure want the money.
Really, they never let you down. They are crazy.

Arizona protective services that deals with elderly abuse should force their way in and have a private chat with Katherine. jmo

Ok is TRENT a good guy in all of this, I cant make sense of who is on what side LOL

I'm coming in so late on this, but I do wish someone had recommended to Michael that he needed a much younger person as a backup guardian for the kids. Katherine is now 82 years old, Diana Ross is nearing 70-I don't blame her for saying she isn't in a position to take guardianship of them. A third much younger and trustworthy person should have been named in the will. Hindsight is 20/20, he probably never imagined he would die so soon.

Try to keep-up! <eg>

I agree...it's a constantly evolving drama being played-out bigtime in the media.

I agree. Too bad it seems like he didn't have many people around he could trust.

Some very perceptive judge needs to take the three kids into his chambers and ask who they themselves trust to take over their care and their estate until Prince is 18.

ITA and then some! :-) I had these very same thoughts earlier today.

It's too bad that MJ was not better-advised when making his plans in 2002; but as you say, he (like many ppl) was not contemplating an early death.

Unfortunately, this 'misstep' (for lack of a better term) left a wide-open door for relatives with ulterior motives to crash thru.

This is what I've been hearing in my head tonight. This whole episode is bizarre, the Jacksons are pathetic.

Just in case it comes-up again, I thought it might be helpful to post a link to mini strokes (among many on a simple net search):

[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transient_ischemic_attack"]Transient ischemic attack - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame](abbreviated as TIA)

My Mother supposedly suffered several of these over many years, one of which I witnessed alone. Later on, we learned that her event may have been caused by hydrocephalus which ultimately was the cause of my Mother's death.

afaik, mini strokes are not detectable by imaging (such as MRI or CT Scan) but instead by history. They serve as warning signs for stroke.

From the above citation:

Risk factors

Family history of stroke or TIA substantially increases risk.
People 55 years or older are at higher risk.
Males have a slightly higher risk of TIA than females but females are more likely to die from a stroke.
African Americans generally tend to have a high risk of dying from a stroke, chiefly due to high blood pressure and uncontrolled diabetes.

Of course, the public is not privy to KJ's medical history; but references to her having suffered a mini stroke may have been used to bolster an argument re her frailty and poor health - an exaggeration - rather than what may in fact be true in her case.

I can't figure out why Janet would be involved in this. She's got plenty of money of her own. I'm starting to think that the other sibs thought they weren't getting enough of a cut of mama Jackson's allowance and started hitting Janet up for cash, so she joined into the fight against the estate so they keep their focus on MJ's money and off of hers.

(respectfully snipped)

Janet has done herself no favors in going along with this, altho I must say that initially I paid more attention to the matter when I saw her involvement. After that scene last evening, I wonder if I ever really knew what she was made of, despite her media image throughout the years.

Why didn't MJ name her as a Guardian of his kids? Why was he separated from her in the years prior to his death? We'll probably never know the truth, but any 'explanations' I had granted her in my own mind are reduced to near nothing after watching her display on security video from the Calabasas residence.

This whole thing is just plain saddening.

I had wondered the same thing. I wondered why MJ had made his mother the guardian when Janet SEEMED to be a better fit, as she was younger and seemed more capable of keeping up with three kids.

But now I understand better. Michael worked hard to stay far away from most of his family members over the years.

I know, I had the same thoughts about Janet before this whole debacle. To be completely honest, she'd done such an excellent job of separating herself from her family in the media, that when I thought "Janet Jackson" I never once thought JACKSON Jackson (does that make sense?). She made her own way and her own name for herself and I respected that. But after seeing her behavior yesterday, she's more Jackson than I ever thought.

Yes, you make plenty of good sense to me!

Michael had a soft spot in his heart for Janet, early on. It was wonderful watching their interaction in old videos. Without his gift of a leg-up for her career, I doubt she would have been such a success on her own. (I can 'hear' my husband yelling at me from several rooms away...he always thought she was the cat's meow...but me, more meh.)

Anyway, something happened to split them apart years ago. I had supposed it was his prescription drug use (her attempted interventions), but now I'm not so sure why he closed the door on his lil sis.

I realize I'm not the only one who regards her differently as a result of this latest exposure.

I also have to question in regards to her not wanting Paris to act professionally if she's not actually jealous. Janet has long been accustomed to being the "famed" female among the Jacksons. Paris is about to steal that limelight from her. And what business is it of Janet's anyway? She has NO decision-making role regarding her brother's children. And Michael made it PERFECTLY clear that is the way he wanted it.
