What's wild is as soon as it happened, many locals and those of us in surrounding counties were pretty sure-driven into a body of water, not difficult to do in the area especially if inebriated.
An it turned into "let's continue to harass her ex and her own mother"
I followed this case closely, what a wonderful example of a cluster-f
So many people on social media behaved so badly destroying so many lives, for two weeks
And she was alone, drunk, caused her own death, drowned, and was right there the entire time.
None of it was necessary, it only added to the trauma and grief for her whole family, friends, and the entire community.
We need a word for it,

Rubbernecking- turning one’s head in a foolish manner
In Texas this is like…driving by and staring at a car accident so hard and intensely that you cease to be a responsible driver and cause another accident such as hitting first responders, hitting a parked car, or blocking traffic so help can’t get to the accident. All for your own curiosity and entertainment.
That is exactly what some people in social media do- Online Rubbernecking
