One of the most satisfying things about sleuthing is discovering newspaper articles that provide information on cases with very little details available on the more popular UID repositories, such as Doe Network and NamUS. Very good discoveries, @Grungster. We now have a cause of death and a suspect. We also have different age estimate for the UID, who was said to have been around 18 and not 15-16. Perhaps an exhumation or something similar resulted in findings indicating that the UID was a bit younger than what had been previously expected.

Pallacios allegedly got angry at "Mario" and stabbed him in the throat while they were "sparring"? As in, they'd been having a practice duel (fencing, maybe)? What a unique circumstance. Maybe that's the verbiage that the newspaper used to describe a general altercation between the two parties.

Does it sound similar enough to "Mario" that it could be used as a nickname or alias?

Accessories - House and car keys, truck key, motorcycle key, *comb, wallet with ID, credit cards and sometimes he carried a handkerchief or bandanna, chap stick, belt, always carried a pager. (JD: A blue makeup compact and black comb were found nearby.)

Clothing - Freddy may of been wearing some casual khaki or dark blue pants, a casual light blue or white button down shirt with a white t-shirt underneath. Nobody knows for sure what he was waring the morning he disappeared the clothing description is how he usually dressed. *Freddy took pride in his appearance. (JD: Red pullover shirt, blue denim trousers, blue stockings, and white jogging shoes.)

Jewelry - He may of been waring a gold ring that had the symbol of a pyramid like that on a dollar bill and a gold chain necklace with a gold anchor with rope around it. He also wore a black watch type unknown photo available of watch.

Comments - Freddy disappeared along with another person named Jose, Jose drove a mid size dark blue 4 door car make unknown this car has never been found. Jose is not listed as missing and has never been seen again according to Freddy's family Jose and Freddy disappeared together.

It may have different pronunciations though and he does look a lot like him! If someone were stabbed and in pain trying to give that name, it might sound like “Mario”. I really wonder why this UID is is not in Namus? There are other UIDs from this county there.

I think that Mario got in a fight with Pedro, and when Mario taunted him or something, Pedro stabbed him.

i think Mario was an immigrant ag laborer though. central valley has a very high population of them.

Bumping up for young John Doe. My speculation is he was a minor who crossed the border alone and was indeed dearly missed back home.

I feel he was betrayed by his murderer, if that's what happened. Maybe considered him a "friend," which he would needed, being so young. I hope he'll at least get his name back, but it seems unlikely.
