Monday, Sept. 10th:
*Prelim Hearing (@ 8:30am PT) - CA - Kris Anderson (57) (June 11, 2016) - Theo Andrew Krah (28 @ time of crime/30, Navy SEAL) indicted (6/13/16) of 1st degree murder; $2M bail.
(victim is WS JaimeSomers' friend).
7/31/18 Update: Trial did NOT start on 7/30/18. Continued… Prelim hearing scheduled for 9/10.

Finally. If anybody is following the trail, please keep us posted as the events unfold.

I believe the last position of the defense was that though the defendant confronted the victim earlier, another individual who may have heard the accusation committed the murder. I don't know what evidence they have to support this possibility- other than simply tossing it out.

I imagine they could also try to undermine the police evidence, but the defense has not made any public comments about any weaknesses in the police evidence.

I try & keep this case updated. Not much has been released lately, so don't really know "what" the State has. But I'll be on the look out.

If anyone in the local area - could keep an eye out for articles - it would be great.

Gah. This is taking forever. :( I just caught up on this whole thread just now. Was really hoping to see an update at the end that he'd been given life or something. RIP Kris. How senseless.

Me too. I was sure that the trial would start Monday. The only good news is that the suspect is detained.

The crime occurred over two years ago, yet the trial is still no where in sight. Objectively, as the suspect is detained, this does not matter. Subjectively, however, it delays justice.

Defendants have a right to a speedy trial, but not a de facto right to no trial. Is 2.5 years of delays common?

I think the judge maybe tolerating a little creativity on the delays because the suspect could not meet the bail (reduction refused). As a result, he has incarcerated himself.

Even still, Justice demands a relatively speeding trial out of respect for the victim. The suspect’s last stated defense was the “wrong guy” defense. As this defense is more “mathematical” than a self-defense type claim, one would think the trial could proceed quickly.
