any word on whether this is anita drake or not? has she been submitted?

(also, urgh. she looks so much donnis, i wonder if it would be worth it to just submit her anyway, despite the eye color...? at least so that they can rule her out.)

Okay, here's our Jane Doe with Anita Drake. Very strong resemblance, in my not-very-expert opinion.

If the Christmas calls that were mentioned were Anita, that would fit with the time line. She went missing before Christmas in 1963, so five Christmases would be 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967. GPJD died before another Christmas came around.

Amazing resemblance to deceased photo. Although the deceased photo isn't the best of photo's. But I would be surprised if this isn't her.

I think the face is very similar except for the nose, but if Jane Doe was facedown on a picnic table could that have "smushed" her nose?

Yeah but the person in other photo is deceased. To me there is a striking resemblance.

The LA Coroner used to have pictures & sketches of some of the victims. I remember this case & to the best of my recollection she committed suicide. Note: lost of people have dropped bodies or committed suicide in the vicinity of Griffith Park maybe because it is a forest in a big city.

No, she didn't commit suicide, she died of a heroin overdose.

I've contacted the Sheriff's office in OH "investigating" Anita Drake's MP case. Tried to send an e-mail to the LA County coroner's office, too, but it doesn't work. I'm not able to call them as I'm working during their hours. Fingers crossed!

Well, my e-mail to the Sheriff got kicked back as undeliverable. If someone can call into either investigative agency, I would greatly appreciate it. I can't call either one due to work.

explains how she was found. that makes me look at this case very differently. Possibly she recently just got out of rehab or was running away from a rehab.

Or maybe she overdosed somewhere and the people she was with freaked out, took her to the park, and then her and posed her on the picnic bench? I also wonder if they found paraphernalia around her body (ie syringes).

It is very easy for a coroner to determine whether a body has been moved after death.

Also, what would be the purpose of posing her body? Murderers sometimes pose their victims for the shock value. But there would be no reason to pose a victim of a heroin OD. If her fellow druggies wanted to get rid of the body so as not to have it traced back to them, they would probably just dump her in an alley or in some roadside bushes. A picnic table in the middle of Griffith Park is a long way to drag a body, and risk being seen by someone.

Did anyone submit Anita? The resemblance is very strong.

I tried via e-mail but everything got kicked back as undeliverable. Can anyone phone it in? I'm working during the hours the "investigating" agencies are open and can't call from work. Please? Anyone?

I have been thinking Anita Drake myself since I saw the woman's photo until i came across this photo which is one of the unidentified photos found in William Richard Bradfords possession. He said he was a modeling photographer and took photos of women in swimsuits and little outfits..kill them and dump their bodies in different places.. which made me think of this Cherryl Miller and her bikini. photo #21 in the collection of the unidentified women looks like Cherryl to me. hope this helps.. but we still dont know who she is!!

New to this thread, but I have two things to add as I grew up in the L.A. area and still have ties there. 1) William Richard Bradford was using photography to lure women, but he is not actively known to have started killing in 1968. I personally may have been approached by him. It was Spring of 1977 and he asked me to model. First it was going to be clothed in an office building, then he changed it to topless on a beach. He balked when I insisted my boyfriend come along. He tended to favor dumping some of his victims in the Palmdale desert area.
2) The cemetery Michael Jackson is in is Forest Lawn. It is next to Mt. Sinai (Jewish cemetary). Both abut Griffith Park and the L.A. Zoo.
