Have the Jurors gone home for today?? Any word???:banghead:

My cat's MUCH prettier than yours!

The verdict: how's tomorrow (Wed.)? Lotsa tea-reading today. The jury deliberated 22 minutes past their lunch time, shortening their lunch time. The last hour? Lotta commotion, judge came out of his office, court clerk spent quality time (as opposed to being called and returning right away) in the deliberation room. Why, she was asked? The jury wanted some printed forms. The exiting jury seemed a cohesive unit, #5 right smack in the middle of them all, wearing a very, very loud rose red blaser.
Bad scuttle from someone we all love; Gloria Allred's client gave sworn testimony this morning about Brittny, about her drug use in front of the children, about a contract hid, child abuse. really ugly. Keep this all to yourself but, stay close to the radio tomorrow.

Thank so much for the updates and I'll just hope that maybe tomorrow will be the day! ;)

Ditto! I am so happy to hear that they were cohesive and the fact they shortened their lunch hour is a good sign. Sometimes they have a verdict and just agree to go home and sleep on it for one more night and then come in and sign verdict forms first thing in the am. Will keep my fingers crossed.

Yadler, Thank you for recommending Mike Brown's article in the UK Telegraph. It was an excellent article, and I am glad I got to read it. The link is below for those of you interested.

The long, hard wait for the Spector verdict--By Mike Brown

The article is 3 pages....

Thank you Jean - appreciated.
It was a great article. I love the Dateline producers answer to the Judge about lifetime jury duty. lol

I was just thinking that it's probably good they didn't have a verdict today since there wouldn't be any cable news coverage of it with OJ back in jail! Tomorrow might be good ~ :D

Isn't that when things usually happen ~ just when we're away from tv or computer? :)

I am hoping that she has a voltile, temperamental nature and that when she calms down she'll listen to the other 11 members of the jury. If, howver, she agreed that past grievances between black and white were correctly answered by Simpson's jury nullification, then we are in deep trouble. Maybe she has crossed some line that Judge Fidler can address and boot her out.
I kept a wary eye on her every time I was in court. My friend, after reading her juror questionaire, spotted her the first time that she was in court (my pal is from New York). To me, she always semed to get along with her neighbor, seemed very pleasant and always dresssed and groomed (as opposed to some of the other jurors.) But when I saw her thunderclouds coming out of the jury room, a sole individual, followed one minute later by the other 11, I knew that we were in trouble.
I've just read a bio of Spector and I can tell you that he has bee a mean, vindictive and dangerous human being all of his adult life. He's always gotten his way. Let's pray that he hasn't managed to tamper with this jury to continue his winning luck cycle.

Yadler, thanks! Now I understand what you meant--just a little dense here LOL

I read your latest post about today, and what a relief! In the middle of the pack is goooood! :)

All the specualtion was driving me nuts. Possibly on Friday, she had some other reason to be in a hurry and upset, as there could be numerous reasons when thinking about it outside of her being a lone juror vs the rest of them.

I will admit tho, I was double worried tho, when the OJ fiasco hit the fan, being she thought 'justice was served'!

Hoping for a G verdict tomorrow!

Yadler, great posts, I am really enjoying them.

About this possible juror "holdout"-- I don't want to pass judgment on her, but who in their right mind would stay married to someone for over a decade who is INCARCERATED? I once heard about a woman staying married to her incarcerated/pedophile husband so she could collect his social security.... but this is just beyond odd to me.

As for this juror believing "justice was served" in the OJ case, I'm afraid this opinion is still very divided down racial lines even many years later. An African American friend of mine often says, "The trial wasn't about OJ. It was about corrupt cops. Black folks got their chance to put the system on trial for once, and so they did. Unfortunately they forgot about the pretty white folks who died..." (HIS words, not mine.)

The jury in Phil Spector's murder trial appeared to have sent the judge a communication on Tuesday, its seventh day of deliberations, and the judge scheduled a proceeding.

The jury buzzed twice, which usually means the panel has a question, and the court clerk went into the deliberations room and returned with an envelope that appeared to contain three pages, which were taken to Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler.

This is what is getting me!!! This is from the CTV blog
'Just proceedings'
The jurors stopped deliberating at 11:04 a.m. when they rang the buzzer twice, and they are not resuming until after lunch, according to a clerk. This cessation seems significant. Often when jurors have readback requests or legal questions, they continue deliberating while the judge and attorneys hammer out an answer to their questions. The judge has said all parties will have an hour to get to his courtroom. So given the noon to 1:30 lunch in the courthouse, the earliest the judge could deal with a verdict or a deadlock would be 1:30.
Just proceedings, that’s all I’m allowed to say,” she says to someone else.

Meanwhile, we can hear laughter coming from the jury room. -- Harriet Ryan

Lets hope this is not a hung jury

I've been watching the news reports locally - Los Angeles, and this sounds unusual. In most trials, if the jury has reached a verdict, it's announced that a verdict has been reached and a time is set for everyone to assemble in the courtroom.

But........there was no announcement that a verdict had been reached, and it appears that the jury stopped any further deliberations pending whatever is to happen at 1:30pm.........5 minutes from now.
