GUILTY CA - Lana Clarkson, 40, fatally shot, Alhambra, 3 Feb 2003

Nope. I think Phil will sit there like an emotionless lump through the whole trial.

I'm watching it Kato. I think that he made a bad decision hiring Bruce Cutler, I can tell you that! Also, these four "prior bad act witnesses" are going to do him in, IMO.

I agree about Cutler. He doesn't belong on the west coast.

LOL That's a good description.

I agree about Cutler. He doesn't belong on the west coast.

Especially on a case like this one. We've got several women who were victimized (allegedly) by Spector. He's not able to be delicate enough to deal with this sort of testimony and I feel he'll anger some women jurors.

hey, I'm watching the trial Kato!! and I agree with you all - Cutler should NOT be here on the left coast... LOL!

and someone (Jeana) mentioned about Lana grabbing the gun when Phil put it to her face - and it went off accidentally. I posted somewhere back on this thread - that he said: "No one takes a gun away from me"... or "No one pulls a gun on me" - something of that nature - so this might be what he was meaning... ?? who knows!! LOL! but I'm watchin'!!

I'm hoping Phil will take the stand!!

And Thanks! AlwaysShocked for that link!

Ah, come on Doll. Don't you luuuvvv his new look?

Has anyone watched him during the trial? He appears angry to me. His eyes are cold and either he has Parkinson's or something because his hands are shaking. Personally, I think it is in anger. He looks through those women like he wishes he had pulled the trigger on each of them.

He looks extra unusual today. Maybe cuz the no glasses?

Does anyone know if Ronnie or any of his kids are going to testify?

I wonder what his hair would do if I slapped his face :slap: ... I can just picture it.. :D

does anybody know whether the prosecution has done any re-direct on any one of the four "prior bad acts" witnesses?

the reason i ask (having not seen all of the direct or cross), is that the defense has asked questions geared to challenge the witnesses credibility by asking them a general question, then zeroing in on some detail of date, etc.

i thought there could have been some "rehabilitation" so to speak and am wondering if the prosecution even made one attempt with one of the witnesses to "rehabilitate" the witness. ???

I haven't seen any today, Seven; but this is the first day that I have really been able to watch the actual trial. Until today, I've only been able to watch what Court TV has (or rather has not) covered. Thanks to the great memebers here who have posted the links to live coverage, I am now able to really see what is going on.

Thanks bunches to them :D

I agree about CTV. I'm currently watching on KTLA @
http://ktla.trb.com/

i dont understand why the judge allowed the defense (after a sidebar requested by the defense) to start cross examining before the prosecution was finished. .... i thought the judge explained it by saying something about the receipt from the grill (where the witness works) .... but now the defense lawyer remarked that they should be able to finish by the end of the day so she wouldnt have to come back tomorrow.

i thought it was interesting she said she felt dismissed after they met lana and she felt embarrased by being so abruptly dismissed, especially since she had not really wanted to go there in the first place.

Bet she's counting her blessings now! close call!

ETA: that answers that .... the judge just dismissed the witness and ordered her to return on monday .... because this rosen character "went over every receipt at every restaurant, interposing at least 20-30 times a statement about how gentelmanly, fun, jovial, kind, interesting, etc., PS was that night.

I totally agree, Seven. By the time they were through, I was scratching my head wondering .... was this a witness for the prosecution or the defense? She certainly had nothing but glowing comments for PS up until he sent her home ..... giggle

Have only been able to catch short segments of this trial, but is Beth Karas still covering it for CTV?? Does anyone know what will happen to her with all the changes being made be CTV?? She is the best.

The short amounts of time I was able to watch this trial, I got the impression that PS had a history of taking women home and acting bizarre. They were just lucky to be alive. IMHO

Did anyone read on CTV the depostion he took about the lawsuit with Shaprio.I only got half done today. Interesting to say the least.

did you see mr. rosen (for the defense) ask for the side bar?
then the judge made an explanation about how he was gonna let rosen go ahead and question the witness out of order?

it occurs to me that this was a ploy by the defense to make sure their side was the last thing heard by the jury before the 3-day weekend .... i cant believe the judge fell for that .... because rosen went on until the judge was forced to ask how much longer he was gonna take, and then when rosen said @ 30 minutes, the judge dismissed the jury.

i remember the defense complaining once before when the prosecution side was the last thing the jury heard before the 3-day weekend .... but one point: the prosecution is presenting the State's case! :banghead:

The shaking tremors Spector has are NOT typical of Parkinson-like tremors. A psychiatrist on Nancy Grace discussed that this looks like tardive dyskinesia to her. It is a side effect from long term use of anti-psychotic medications.

"Tardive dyskinesia is characterized by repetitive, involuntary, purposeless movements. Features of the disorder may include grimacing, tongue protrusion, lip smacking, puckering and pursing of the lips, and rapid eye blinking. Rapid movements of the arms, legs, and trunk may also occur. Impaired movements of the fingers may appear as though the patient is playing an invisible guitar or piano. Patients with Parkinson's disease have difficulty moving, while patients with tardive dyskinesia have difficulty not moving." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tardive_dyskinesia

Spector makes no attempt to put his hands in his lap, but rather places his arms on the table in front of him with eelbows down, arms raised and hands clasped - a position which could actually contribute to the continuation of tremors.

He is weird, weird, weird. His facial countenance throughout the trial thus far is a an evil-looking stare.

I can't believe no court on Fridays especially since on the days there are court they start so late. Here in Houston, at least in my experience, court starts between 8:30 - 9:00 and out about 4:00 - 4:30. And no Fridays off.

One of the talking heads made reference to this too. Their take was that it was a ploy for sympathy from the jury ... giggle

PS - Quote cut to conserve space :)
