Darn, missed Dr Lee's testimony but did read that he was wailing about his reputation, or some such thing. How can he deny finding evidence if there are others who obviously witnessed it?

I have known about Dr Lee and his reputation for many years. I have always had high regard for him until the Simpson trial; I think it was apparent that his testimony may be linked to who is paying him. Garbage in, garbage out my. . .

It's interesting that those claiming to have witness Dr Lee find and put something in his pocket are some who worked the Simpson case but, then again it was Shapiro who first represented Spector and hired all these experts! In fact, sounds like half the "Dream Team" will be called to testify, including Shapiro, Caplan, Pavlic. etc.

And what of Michael Baden who wife just happens to be part of the Spector defense team?

I just don't know if it is possible for these experts to be as objective as they claim to be - worrying about their reputations and all.

Hello Jeanna,

My feeling is that these women were terrorized and knew what this guy's power could do. Aside from that, have you seen the things that they aren't letting into the trial? The times that people DID report Spector, the "hand slapping" he got, probations? I can't believe that they aren't letting these things into the trial.

One of my pet peeves is when the talking heads for the defense get on and claim that these events mean nothing because no one was killed! Thank God, it didn't happen earlier but, it was just a matter of time.

The man had problems with substances and is probably mentally ill as well. He had more than his share to drink that night and then this hostess mistakes him for a woman. Don't you think that help set him off. She didn't want to go with him in the first place but gives in. When she tells the driver it's only for one drink, Spector yells at her not to talk to the driver! I understand her draw to want to see his home. Maybe secure a friend she can do some networking through. Listen to some stories of the people he knew and worked with. My God, the man is a legend. I just wish she would have listened to her instincts that night.

I recall listening to Ronnie Spector and thinking how terrorizing it must be to have lived like that and, I heard the interviews with one of the adopted boys. Anyone else would have been jailed for abuse but like the manager of HOB said - "we treat celebrity different".

When will this cult of celebrity end? When will we realize Mel Gibson is no more than a racist actor with a substance abuse problem or Michael Richard's a racist comic and even Spike Lee a racist film director.

I'm so sorry you guys missed it, it was quite entertaining.

He's use to testifying, not really being questioned and getting off the stand.

This DA is hot, right on it.. Even though, he control the situation pretty good, the judge even had to step in and direct Lee a couple of times.

I've never been much of a fan, so enjoyed it totally.

We still have Wecht and Badin to go through I guess.. That should be interesting, cause Wecht has a tendancy to pop a vien on his forhead when he gets questioned. They do seem to think they are God's. Someone put them on pedstals at some point, I think this DA just might be the person to knock them off.

It appears that court has started late every day.

I couldn't figure out yesterday, after Dr. Lee I kind of started doing other things, as to whether they are black today also.

It doesn't appear to have started yet this morning.

I felt so bad for the Drive on the stand before Dr. Lee and the drive will be back Monday. They stopped his testimony, because the almighty was coming in. (wink)

I might have mentioned this before, sorry if I'm repeating myself, but you all are familar with Dr. Lee, he only wants to say he what he wants. No one should question him... He only wants to give the testimony to help the defense.

Did you know that his office is in his house and that's where all the evidence was kept for four years, and he made a big tado about contaminated blood evidence in the OJ trial.

He also, all of a sudden, doesn't keep any records.

And he got so flustered at one point, when pushed on a question, that he got defensive and said, he's only one person, he has to do it all. He has to collect the evidene, he has to record the evidence, he has to document the evidene (those seemed to have disappeared or werent' done) he can only do so much. It was really pathic.

Some people think the medications he takes cause tremors. Some people think the tremors become more pronounced when he's in the courtroom. I don't have CourtTV or anything so I haven't seen the trial or witnessed Spector's shakes firsthand. :twocents:

Also there was a question asked on another forum - and I don't post over there, but thought I'd post the question here, as I don't know the answer either! LOL!

Has Phil Spector ever said what the two of them did between the time they got home and the time of her death? Did she have a lot of alcohol in her system?

I did just read (somewhere?? :doh: ) that Phil said Lana took 12 vicodins, plus she brought along some tequila, can't remember how 'big' the bottle was... anyone hear about this? And if I remember correctly - did not the driver, Adriana say that he was in the car waiting for 2 hours, and then he heard the "pow" - ?? was it 2 hours??

It contains transcriptions of police encounters/interviews with Spector at the police station that morning. Each and every officer who encountered him states he smelled heavily of alcohol. During an angry rant, Spector made the statement that Clarkson committed suicide at his house.

Interesting facts among the readings:

1 - A co-worker from House of Blues who spoke to a detective stated that he saw Lana leave with Spector. He described her as wearing "a black pantsuit that had a halter style top". Lana was found dead wearing a very short black "slip dress" and there was a (long?) skirt folded up inside her purse.

My question: When did the skirt come off? Why did the skirt come off?

(This co-worker had called into the police station wanting to know if Lana was the person killed at Spector's house. He said he had tried to call her house and did not get any answer. At that point the police still did not know who Lana was, so she must not have had an ID in her purse?)

2 - There is a listing of items taken from from Spector at the police station that morning, and I am assuming these were items in his pockets since I doubt they allowed him to gather up and bring along the "valise" containing his wallet that was later found sitting on the second chair in the same hallway where Lana's body was found. Along with two pairs of glasses and "medical equipment" the list includes "Lipstick, 2 lancets".

My question: Why did Phil Spector have a lipstick on his person at the time of his arrest? Whose lipstick was it? (Remember Dorothy Melvin said Spector went through her purse as he held her at gunpoint and pulled out a lipstick and demanded to know "What's this? What's this?")

3 - When police found the holster in the top drawer of the Bombe chest (I've seen this referred to as a "dresser" in press reports. It looks like a Bombe chest.) in the entry hall there was an unloaded starter pistol in the holster.

My question: Did Spector begin to attempt to wipe the murder weapon clean and then, realizing he would never get all the residue off the gun, place it on the floor near her left ankle and then fetch the starter pistol and place it in the holster? Did I not read that the diaper was found on the floor near the toilet and that it was soaked with toilet water? (Clean gun in toilet bowl as opposed to the sink. Toilet can be flushed and substance is gone, unlike with a sink where residue may remain in the trap. )

Was it not said there was blood found on the holster itself? Spector placing a starter pistol into the holster AFTER the shooting would account for that blood.

Could we get a Phil Spector trial thread here on websleuths - please, please!

It is a most interesting case. And going to become even more so. Not just for the actual issue of murder vs. "accidental suicide", but for what is going on as side issues.

The hearing before the judge (no jury) to determine whether or not the defense - namely Dr. Lee - has withheld evidence found at the crime scene from the prosecution has been fascinating.

The testimony of Dr. Henry Lee in the side hearing (outside of the jury) was riveting. Several people, including a Shapiro defense team attorney, have testified that Lee found a piece of what appeared to be fingernail material at the crime scene after the police investigators had left the scene. An attoney for twenty-five year, Sara Caplan testified she watched Lee place the item into a vial! Lee denies he found anything of this nature or that he placed anything of this nature into a vial. He says he was using cotton swabs and placing them into vials and that's what she must have seen.

For those of us who followed the Michael Peterson trial and watched Lee's absurd "ketchup performance", his afffected inscrutable Cheshire-catlike smile, and his ever-increasingly non-understandable, grammatically incorrect replies to cross exam questions (whew!) it has been kind of gratifying to watch DA Alan Jackson very nicely and politely "tear him a new @sshole".

DA Jackson is obviously NOT taken in by Lee's "Charlie Chan" demeanor, nor by his attempts to "charm" his audience - the judge - with a smile and a racially-based "joke". (Referring to the numerous other people at the crime scene along with Lee during the time he was performing his own "crime scene investigation", when asked to name exactly who all was there Lee replied with a broad smile "I don't know. They all look alike to me!")

Bottom line: Lo and behold, in photos turned over to the prosecution just last week Lee took photos of "sumsing" that looks like it might be the fingernail-like piece - BUT he claims it is just a photo of a fresh gouge in the wood floor of Spector's foyer.

Is anyone else here following this trial closely?
