''Porter is a registered sex offender who was convicted in 2006 of lewd or lascivious conduct with a child under 14 years of age, as well as annoying or molesting a child under 18 years of age, according to the California Department of Justice. He was released in 2013. Porter was also convicted of indecent exposure in 2018.''

''Detectives believe there may be more survivors because of Porter's prior sexual assault history, police said. Anyone with information about the case incident or similar incidents was asked to contact Detective Davis #4686 of the department's sexual assault unit at [email protected] or 408-277-4102.''

''Police in Berkeley, Calif., said in a press release that 56-year-old Lashay Durisseau was arrested on Tuesday for crimes involving at least seven victims where he allegedly assaulted the victims or threatened them with a firearm. It's believed he is responsible for similar crimes spanning four jurisdictions between 1994 and 2008.

Among the cases under investigation are crimes committed in Berkeley and Oakland, Calif., as well as Richmond, Texas, and Beaumont, Texas, police said. Evidence from a 2002 sexual assault in Berkeley was tested in 2015 after the Alameda County District Attorney's Office obtained a grant to process previously untested rape kits, resulting in a DNA match linking five additional cases, according to police.''

''The Berkeley Scanner, which first reported the developments in the case, said Durisseau is facing multiple charges of forcible rape and oral copulation, as well as special allegations of kidnapping during a sex offense, committing sex offenses on separate occasions, and targeting multiple victims in addition to other charges''

''On January 13, the Berkeley Police Department, with the assistance of allied agencies in Richmond, Texas, arrested Lashay Durisseau in connection with a series of kidnappings and sexual assaults—including a number of cases from Alameda County.

Our investigators believe he is responsible for a series of similar crimes spanning four jurisdictions between 1994 and 2008.

The series involves seven victims. In the majority of the incidents, the suspect either physically assaulted the victims or threatened them with a firearm.

Evidence from the Berkeley case was tested in 2015 through a grant obtained by the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office to process previously untested rape kits. That testing resulted in a case-to-case DNA match linking five additional cases.

In 2020–2021, a grant from the California Department of Justice allowed detectives to process more than 500 cold sexual assault cases, including the Berkeley case tied to this series. During that effort, Richmond Police Department (CA), Oakland Police Department, and Beaumont (Texas) Police Department identified cases linked to the same suspect and formally ceded their investigations to Berkeley PD. Our investigators then worked collaboratively with the detectives from these allied agencies to develop a unified strategy to move forward with the investigation--building on the good work these departments had already done.

In 2022, detectives requested assistance from the California Department of Justice, which provided critical forensic support with a familial search. A key development occurred when the FBI obtained the suspect’s DNA for comparison testing, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant.

On January 12, detectives traveled to Texas and coordinated with a Houston-based FBI Task Force (tactical) and the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office. On the morning of January 13, officers served the arrest warrant and took Durisseau into custody near his residence in Richmond, Texas, without incident—bringing a decades-long investigation to a close.''

''Little other information about Durisseau was immediately available. Relatives could not be located or did not respond to requests for comment. On Durisseau's Facebook page, he listed his hometown as Oakland but included pictures from a trip to Houston last year. Public records also tie a business with a similar name to the church to Stafford, Texas, not far from where police arrested him.''

''On LinkedIn, Durisseau wrote that he was a senior pastor at a Pentecostal church called the Yoke Destroying Ministries International in Missouri. He appears in multiple YouTube videos from 2012 preaching in Oakland, at a local Baptist church.''

It would be great if these departments released photos of him earlier in life, during the times of the known/suspected assaults, as well as physical stats. Hard to believe there are not more victims. There are many composites in newspaper archives.

According to a 2002 article when searching on his name, he also had affiliations with Monroe, Louisiana.
