  • Date of Birth01/01/1976 (43)
  • Age22 years old
  • Height and Weight5'11, 135 - 175 pounds
  • Medical ConditionsWells was nine months pregnant at the time of her disappearance. Her baby, a boy, was due on April 17.
  • Distinguishing CharacteristicsCaucasian female. Blonde hair, hazel eyes. Wells often wears her hair pinned up. She has a tattoo of a flower on the back of her neck and a tattoo of the name "Geoffrey" on her back. She had braces on her teeth at the time of her disappearance.
Details of Disappearance
Wells was last seen asleep in bed at the home she shared with her fiance and his mother on Granby Avenue in Simi Valley, California on the morning of March 29, 1999.

She missed a 9:00 a.m. appointment at the welfare office that day, and a doctor's appointment the following day. She has never been heard from again. Her fiance reported her missing on March 31.

Wells took only her wallet and keys when she disappeared. She doesn't own a car and she never picked up her last welfare check. She left behind her identification and her engagement ring, which she had taken off because her fingers were swollen. Wells left behind a four-year-old daughter from a previous relationship; the child was living with her father in March 1999.

In 2001, an incarcerated man stated another man he'd met in prison confessed to killing Wells, wrapping her body in a blanket or a rug, and burying it. Supposedly, Wells went to a home where methamphetamine was being manufactured and interrupted the killer in the process, and he killed her to keep her from telling about it. This was never verified.

Wells's case remains unsolved.

I'm concerned that it took two days to report her missing—especially when she had appointments on those two days.

The Doe Network says that "it was later learned" (BBM) that she had these appointments, which suggests she didn't tell anyone. Maybe she just wasn't the type to share this info with others? Was it her habit to go out by herself for long periods of time without checking in, and that's why no one was concerned till that Wednesday? This last point would fit with the "prison statement" that she had visited a meth lab, if she was secretly using/dealing. Alternatively, "two days" is consistent with what LE usually tells loved ones, that adults cannot be reported missing until 48 hours have passed.

Ahh, but she was nine months pregnant at the time! (Sorry, I'm writing as I'm reading and re-reading!) I can't imagine a woman nearing the end of her pregnancy would find it comfortable to just go off on her own—let alone to a meth lab! I think we need to know more about her fiancé and his relationship with Lindsay.

As a friend (not extremely close at the time) of Lindseys living in same town at the time and never knew she was missing for close to a year. Police did a crap job! A missing pregnant woman missing I think EVERYONE in community should of known. Everyone should of been looking. EVERYONE who knows Lindsey KNOWS the only place she would of gone was to see her child who was living with her father (and also she was wanting to get custody back), a very well known meth dealer, who has done many stints in prison and has support from family in it. I believe he was just arrested again last year! There was always talk that he buried her at a family members house which had recently had a new driveway! To this day the police have never searched there! Her ex was very abusive, very obsessed with her, and lastly Lindsey has told people he was going to hurt her! I wish the police would investigate further put new eyes on it. That little baby could of lived outside her body. He deserves justice as well! I still pray for her mom, daughter, and brother all the time!

First off I would love to point out a few things. If Donna Tait was the last one that saw her alive that morning, why is there no description of what she was wearing? I find that completely off. Second, supposedly she was seen in a convenient store two days later..... Still no description of what she was wearing????? When did Donna last see her??? What time??? A lot of holes missing.
I would also like to point out that I did know Lindsay personally. I knew her inside and out. I knew her character. She would have never missed a welfare appointment! Also for them to act like she busted in on some homeless random meth house?!?! Come on! Lindsay was streets smart, even if she was around a situation like that... She would have not given two shots! Why would some random kill her nine and a half months pregnant?!?! They never once looked into the Scaicca's. That family is 100% sick! On every level! David was in jail at the time of the disappearance. I do not believe he did it or had anything to do with it. But his uncle and mom should have been looked at extensively. With a fine tooth comb. Where were they??? Can they link her disappearance to them 22 years later?
My heart is heavy... The things I know way heavy upon me. I wish someone would have listened to me a long time ago. Maybe her family and friends could have had peace by now.
Lord find her. May someone open their ears and listen!

Find Lindsay Marie Wells! It's time for peace!
