(CNS) - Los Angeles Transit Services police asked for the public's help on Sunday to find a 5-year-old child who went missing at Union Station.

Lorenzo Capriccio was last seen about 8 p.m. Saturday, Transit Services Detectives reported.

Capriccio's mother told police that Lorenzo may be with a family member in the San Diego area. San Diego police have been notified about the missing child, the LAPD reported.

Lorenzo is black. He stands 3 feet 5 inches tall, has brown eyes and short black hair, police said.

This is weird. How did Lorenzo go missing while at the station? Why is it just reported now, on Sunday?

Who was Lorenzo with at the Union Station when he went missing? Why does his mother believes that he may be with a family member in San Diego and why did she report Lorenzo as missing to the police if he's with a family member? Did she call the family member to ask if Lorenzo is indeed with them?

I bet there is camera footage to help sort it out.

It will be interesting to find out if Lorenzo even appears on the station's security camera footage, and if so, whom appears to be accompanying him.

Union Station can be very fast paced and busy but I’m 100% positive they have amazing cctv. Why is this so hush hush?

I believe they do have cameras everywhere...if he was there at any point, they should be able to find footage of him. They really aren't giving much information to work with. I hope that poor kid is safe somewhere.

He went missing (per mother) from Union station but might be with a relative in San Diego? Huh? That should be easy enough to check out. Was the relative with the mom and LC at the station and then both gone now? Is mom saying the relative took LC?

Yep, seems like LE would know by now if he's in San Diego with a relative.

According to this link his mother was the one who reported him missing since 8 pm on December 8.
Los Angeles police said Lorenzo Capriccio was reported missing by his mother on the evening of Dec. 8. He was last seen at Union Station at around 8 p.m.

According to police, the boy’s mother said she believes Lorenzo might be in the San Diego area with a family member.
Missing Los Angeles boy may be in San Diego area, mom tells police

So your kid goes missing and you believe he might be with a relative 120 miles away? Either LE is withholding information or else... well, y'all know the alternative.

Hopefully LE is still determining what happened and isn't ready to release more info. And yeah I agree there are plenty of cameras to check - perhaps that's what causing LE's delay. MOO.

What? ?? Ok, please leave him there. I think he might be better off. I'm shocked but happy. Shocked.
