It would be great if the DNA Doe Project could work on this case, although unfortunately I find it difficult since "Randolph Houser" has no DNA available:

Oops. I didn't know he didn't have DNA available. I also forgot about LA County cremating Does! Though, I am not sure if this was in practice in 1968.

Looking forward to hear if he's Randolph M. Houser. If not, I think it's definitely a strong lead!
@Grungster , I super appreciate you compiling the information about the shooting. Very, very sad situation. I hope he is able to be brought home.

I wonder if DNA Doe Project would have any interest?
He was cremated like all the other unclaimed/unidentified decedents before a DNA sample could be obtained. Fortunately though, Kenneth Nevada Williams (Long Beach John Doe 1978) had a DNA sample from cremains so there is still hope!

Edit: Didn't realize YaYa had already posted it. Consider this post as a bump.

Are there any rule outs for this lad?
I found a mp that looks just like him but apparently he vanished in the summer of 1968, unless it's inaccurate

Nope :/

Perhaps he was reported missing in the summer but was last seen earlier.

Furman Byrd. Apparently last seen on 1st July 1968 but noone seems to know he was doing and where he was that year and wasn't reported missing till 2018 so it's possible the lka date is wrong
