CA CA - Los Angeles Co, WhtFem UP3496, 45-55, struck by car, ring written Ariel, Aug'96

When I saw this, I thought I would point out that oshweken is the native reservation just outside of Brantford, Ontario. I don’t know if there was follow up to this, but thought I would mention it as there may be a reluctance to report a missing person from an indigenous community (highway of tears etc)

I considered both Native and Hispanic ancestry, but blue eyes would be a bit unusual, although certainly not impossible. Doing a little more research on the name Ariel, it seems to most commonly be a man's name in cultures or areas with either Spanish (including the Philippines, Latin America) or Jewish/Hebrew influenced-populations. Common nicknames would include Ari or Arik. It's only more recently that it's become popular as a female name, primarily in English-speaking countries. Unfortunately, based on a list of famous individuals with that name, the mid-eighties is right around the time that this transition began to being more commonly a female name in the US. So, I would think that either Ariel is a male romantic partner (married or some other anniversary in 1984) or a female child (born 1984)--assuming she purchased or received this ring new. Depending on her background, the child might be more likely to be a male. Another point of interest is that Ariel can be a surname.

I wonder who this Ariel A(Alberto?) Gomez was...
I see in the records he(appearing to be the same person, but possibly not):
Married Milagros Mecias on 28 April 1984 (the date in the ring, and it looks like this person remarried in Miami-Dade on 18 August 1990, possible residence record 1999-2001)
Divorced Milagros Mecias on 11 February 1985
Married Marlen De Lopez on 8 November 1986
Divorced Marlen De Lopez on 13 March 1989.
Married Angelica Maria Rodil on 16 August 1996 (5 days after this Jane Doe died)

Alternatively the ring could have come from anywhere... but checking the history of these womans names would be a good place to start... also a possible aka for Ariel as Ariel Dejesus Herrera

As for the ring the only things that come up for name engravings on rings via Google is wedding/romantic related things.

Of course it could be a birth - my parents didn't have the money to buy an engagement ring when they got engaged so instead my father got my mother an eternity ring when they had their first child together. Could be a situation like that.

This woman is listed as 51", but I assume they actually meant 5'1"? I realize California doesn't publish post-mortems, but I wish they had taken and released a photo of her for the day that she lived in the hospital after the crash.
NamUs now has the height as 4'11" - 5'3".
