Oh? I didn't know that the face swells when the body is dead.

also, is it okay if you send the uncensored version of her PM here? Not sure if that's okay.

  • #122
It's very possible that she was undocumented or that her family was undocumented- We've seen that be a reason before; Anjelica Castillo comes to mind.

Her COD isn't publicly available. *Something* is censored on her forehead on the PM pic, but the swelling/one open eye could be from postmortem changes. We can't really speculate on the cause of death just from the PM, imo. Either her COD is genuinely undetermined or they know but it hasn't been made public for whatever reason.
i also want to point out her jewelry. a 12-15 year old doesn't typically wear those sorts of rings, especially those thick chunky rings. she also had a golden ID bracelet, made by this jewelry shop, as seen in the picture. since its described as an ID bracelet, this Is another indicator that she was trafficked.

It looks like the place where she was dumped and the jewelry place that made the bracelet were pretty damn close.

I went back to observe the doe's uncensored PM, and her eye is definitely swollen. It's very red across the edges, and she's missing a majority of her eyelashes on the top of her eyelid. Also, it looks somewhat torn. I don't know if that's because dead bodies sometimes bloat up, but it definitely has a visible tear on the right corner.

This sort of backs up my theory on her death being homicide via beating, or it was probably forced open when she was dumped.

I saw that version, it's posted further up in the thread. It's pretty disturbing, but the body naturally swells/bloats postmortem so I can't tell if it's traumatic vs. natural as a layperson. NamUs has plenty of other PM pictures of other Does that look similar.

ETA: The spot on her forehead is still censored/edited on the "original" PM.
it definitely looks traumatic. half of her eyelashes are missing on the top of the eyelid and there's a bit of tearing at the side. A huge part of the Laskis is red and visible.

is there a chunk missing from her eyelid in the PM photo?

Also, with how young she was I'm willing to bet if she's reported missing they won't report her tattoos. If they were on her thigh she could in theory hide them from her parents.

I'm wondering if she could have also gone several years before being reported missing (if she's been reported at all). With tattoos like that I'm willing to bet she and others saw her as a lot older than her age, maybe she left home and told her family that she could take care of herself.
sure looks like it. almost all of her eyelashes are missing too.

I just pasted the postmortem Jane Doe photo next to a school yearbook photo of this girl to compare and contrast. A few inconsistencies; overall doubt it's her
the doe also has unkempt/unbrushed eyebrows. its a very distinct feature I noticed.

Okay, I'm not saying this could be our Jane Doe because she went missing 33 years after our Jane Doe was found, but listen to me for a second — I was browsing through California's missing person database and came across a person named Maria Selena Rugama Olivas. I stared at her picture for a moment and realized that she has a slight resemblance to the doe, specifically in the shape of the eyebrows and maybe the eyes. Again, I'm not saying this is her, but I do feel like they could be related ancestrally because of the similar shape of the eyebrows and the shape of the eyes.

I'm going to cruise the database more and figure out if there are anymore MI's that look like her. So far, Maria is one who has a bit of a similar appearance.

Her year of birth (jane does) would have to be around 1974-1977. (ages 12-15 like her estimate) I'll cruise around the database with these in mind

if this post comes off as a bit far fetched or disrespectful then I apologize, as this was not meant to: Again, when I was scrolling on the California missing persons data base to find anyone that looked like our doe (entering the name "Maria" first) I found this girl. I am not saying that she is the jane doe, but I was more or so shocked because their appearances looked a bit similar in that regard, again mostly due to the eyebrow shape and the eyes. This is in not way shape or form meant to be disrespectful, this was more of an observation I pointed out. I hope that Maria is found safely.

i know angel longoria has been ruled out but she does have a striking resemblence to the doe, mostly with the eyes and general face shape.

It could be a trafficking stamp. She may have been lured in by an older man looking to traffic young girls. POH may stand for Property Of and maybe the trafficker, if there is one, his name starts with an H. The S in this case might mean “sex” or “slave”, like a BDSM type thing. However there is no evidence that Jane Doe was SA’d before her death. She could have just died and someone dumped her out of panic or hoping someone would claim the body. That’s just a theory of mine.

Or it could just be a tattoo. Just a normal tattoo. Maybe the letters have some significance to her? Maybe a boyfriend’s initials, her own initials, a lost loved one, like an aunt, uncle, grandparent, sibling, etc? Maybe the letters have no meaning. The tattoo is very distinct.

I have a similar tattoo to this girl. Mine is homemade, obviously, since I’m only 16. Mine reads “с миром и любовью”, which is a Russian phrase meaning “with peace and love”. I have Russian heritage and my grandmother would write this in her birthday and Christmas cards she gave to me. She’s still alive but in bad health. Maybe it’s a foreign word or phrase? Someone suggested Hindi or Bengali letters.

To be honest I can see that. She looks very racially ambiguous to me. She looks more Latina in the composite but more Middle Eastern or South Asian in the PM photo. Maybe she was Indian/Bangladeshi and the letters meant something in Hindi or Bengali?

The same person suggested Cyrillic. I have nothing to go off of for her tattoo since there are no pictures of it available, but maybe it is Cyrillic. Again, I’m Russian-American so I know what Cyrillic looks like. But with letters that look similar to these they have no meaning in Russian, leading me to believe if this is in fact Cyrillic on her tattoo, she may have been from/have heritage in the Central Asian “stan” countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan). Really leaning towards the last three. Those countries use Cyrillic too, and especially did in 1989. Now they are kind of switching over to Latin or Arabic script.

I tried to ask for a photo or a sketch of the tattoo but I think this means a no.

Agree. Think it’s a rule out.
was just proven that angelica gandara is a ruleout for this doe. Angelica Longoria looks a bit identical to the jane doe (eyeshape and nose shape) but the jane doe doesn't have any scars like angelica L did.
I'm going to contact the medical office in LA one more time for the picture or sketch of the tattoo.

She looks more Central American (e.g., Guatemalan) than Mexican. But those people typically have very straight coarse hair.

It strikes me strange is that a girl that young had a tattoo of some strange symbols on her thigh, and permed hair, if she was just a typical border crosser.
not to mention her rings, I.D Bracelet and the nail polish. what 12-15 year old would be decked out in jewelry like that?

Angelica has a mole on her nose. Couldn't see that in the pictures you linked, but here is a picture where you can see it more clearly. Depending on what kind of mole it was it could have been removed of course. View attachment 450001
Before she was ruled out (and if you looked at the only colored image of angelica) she genuinely had a bit of a resemblance to the doe because the mole was sort of faded out. the nose shape is definitely similar and if her hair was let down, they both looked decently identical.

I found this girl from a James garfield yearbook in 1989, yearbook photos are typically taken before school year starts, any resemblance??

I'll admit, the resemblance is striking! She looks just like her.

The ages and location (James Garfield High School is roughly 4.5 miles away from where Jane Doe was found) even match up.

Based on the information associated with this photo (per Ancestry), I was not able to really find anything else on this girl. Nor was I able to find any missing persons report.

However, I cannot shake how alike these two look. It's uncanny.

I feel like that could be her. I’m not going to say for certain it is until further confirmation but wow.
