If you write ":" and "P" one next to the other, without a space between them it looks like that. So you need to leave a space after the "Warning:" and "POST" in order to avoid that.

Great job on finding him in the Unclaimed database. It's very sad that his family has not been located, but at least he has a name now.

Looking up his name, it looks like he was never reported missing? Does anyone know if he was or not? Also, is Edgar's age unknown? I assume if they had his fingerprints on file then they also had his DOB.
Also, found it interesting that they had a non-graphic post-mortem photo the whole time and didn't add it to the original NamUs!

I asked the coroner his age, they haven't responded. I guess they don't know, I would guess they usually withhold information that they have no answer for. But if they have documentation proving his identity, then how do we not know where he was born or where he resided?

I don't understand it either, how did it take 16 years to match fingerprints? How did they do it? I wonder if they ever interviewed people around the neighborhood he was found in? I doubt he walked very far from his residence if it was really a suicide. I also wish we knew more about how they're so sure it was suicide? Just seems like an odd location - when I was initially reading it I thought for sure it was a gang murder.

"Possible suicide" it said on his case. But in an alley?

Perhaps his family was afraid to come forward to report him missing due to their residency status. Or there was a language barrier they didn't know how to surmount. Or he was in the U.S. without family.
All speculation.

Apparently California is not allowed to show post mortem photos any longer. It changed few years ago as there was some scandal of some gruesome post mortem photo circulating in public and family was horrified. After that incident all post mortem photos from Ca were also pulled from NamUs. I don't recall full story but I think it was some kind of horrible accident involving Ferrari.I think @CarlK90245 knows full story and I remember he also mentioned at the time he was quickly saving most of postmortems of unidentified to his files before they all disappeared from public view.

So if anyone is working on any California case, he would be the right person to go to.

I sincerely wonder how they came from A to B, meaning where did his fingerprint match came from after all this years? And I would like to see a real paper where his name is spelled. They could have made a mistake seeing the second r in Arroldo wrong, being an n. Just thinking out loud.

Arroldo would be his father's surname and González his mother's. I had some friends who's daughter was injured on vacation in Columbia. The hospital asked her father's last name..Smith, and mothers last name, Smith. They kept repeating the questions, but my friends didn't understand so the hospital listed her as Jane Smith Smith. It's typically how most Spanish and Hispanic names are listed, father, then mother.

It's first name, middle name if they have one, father's name and mother's name. But they use the father's name so, it's pretty much the same thing. Like, his name is Edgar Arroldo Gonzalez, and he would most likely introduce himself as Edgar Arroldo.

Hi Tony. I know, but Arroldo is besides a surname also a given name, so maybe this got mixed up. Him only using his father's name Gonzales, like many people, living in America, do. The name Edgar is the thing. It feels like he might have come from a mixed marriage, mother being English/American orientated, (How can I put this without looking like a racist) and father from a Latino background. Just speculation off course. Besides that f.i. the Mexican law allows you to choose what name you want to use.

I think it's strange they can't find his family...so that's why I'm questioning the name.

I'm with you @Lusitana ... can't think of any reason why someone would want to commit suicide in a public alley where anyone could walk by. On the other hand, I don't think it would be hard for someone (or a group of guys) to be choking this guy or otherwise incapacitating him, and either hanging him by his tshirt on this fence or looping a rope around his neck and the fence. He was only 150lbs.
Sadly, I doubt this was ever investigated as a potential crime and his family will likely never know for sure.
