''Carly says she remembers seeing her husband’s wallet and phone on the counter before she left for the gym.
When she came back home from the gym around 7:30, there was still no sign of Lucien. “He would, 100% of the time, be up and making coffee or something downstairs at this time,” Carly said.
Carly glanced at the counter where Lucien’s wallet and phone were and noticed something else: a note.
According to Carly, the note indicated “that he was sorry and loved us.”
“And I thought, ‘Well, that’s bizarre,’” she said.''

There currently is no new information on this case. Is there anything else that can be done by those of us who are helping using online sources?

The best kind of help when there is no news, is to post about the missing person from time to time. ''Bumping'' (as it is referred to on Ws.) helps to keep the mpers. in the public eye. imo.

Do any of you think his case could be connected to the other missing man Hanley Ernst? Ernst disappeared 2 days prior in the same general area (Dana Point) and looks very similar to Lucien.

This has been suggested in the Facebook thread on Help Find Lucien. I believe that for some reason this was dismissed as being connected. I think any information can help until it is disproved. The Lucien case is very puzzling because the information provided is second hand and sparse.

Here is an update from Lucien’s brother, Edgar. Posted on the Help Find Lucien Facebook page
Thank you for this! I am just scratching my head on the new information that the dog got overheated and maybe that is why he lost the scent where he did? Is there not a back up dog or something? I really have no idea how it works, but this is a very important part of the case! The family now believes he WASN'T picked up by a car but instead continued to walk on foot. Personally, I believe that you can't eliminate a potential clue unless it has been disproven by facts and real evidence.

Update from Edgar, Lucien's brother: (as posted by hollyhocker) :

"We got clarification that the search dog that was tracking Lucien's scent became overheated, which means its results became ultimately unreliable. This is significant because it creates uncertainty about the exact point where the trail ended. And considering the early morning hour and circumstances, it is unlikely that Lucien was picked up by a car or disappeared exactly at the location where his scent was lost. In our opinion it is far more likely that Lucien continued to walk further south on Ave La Pata, passing the Calle Saluda crossing".
