"Lydia Nicholson went to check on her son in his bedroom after he became upset while playing video games and began shouting, police said.
Nicholson argued with his mother, broke his video game headset, then blamed her, according to police. He also threatened to shoot both his parents.
He allegedly grabbed a gun, fired two rounds into the wall of their house and then shot his mother. His 81-year-old father wrestled away the firearm."
