GUILTY CA - Madyson Middleton, 8, Santa Cruz, 26 July 2015 - #3 *Arrest*

Thousands of kids have horrific childhoods, serious depression, suicidal thoughts and undiagnosed autism. 99.9% of them don't go on to lure, strangle, rape and mutilate little girls.

The Santa Cruz County District Attorney's Office is challenging his release, because Gonzalez matches the profile and needs to be treated for sadism, necrophilia and pedophilia. Three dangerous and hard-to-treat disorders. They argue his treatments were not extensive enough and he remains a danger to the public.

The statement he made about suicicial ideation and why he didn't end up killing himself - sound like an attempt after the fact, to deny accountability as to why he commited those acts against Mady.

There is not enough supervision even as an RSO, to keep close enough tabs on this guy if he's released. The prosecution is clearly outlining the risks, will a jury agree?

“In 2015, I knew this was a person I was doing this to, but I was just thinking about myself,” Gonzalez said.

“What do you think about it now?” Stevens asked.

Gonzalez said he thinks about the pain and fear Madyson experienced and feels “terrible” because he was a person that Madyson trusted and because “she’s no longer with us.”

“Whose fault is that?” Stevens asked.

“Mine,” Gonzalez replied.

“Right now, do you think you’re a good liar?” George asked.

Gonzalez answered, “I have the capability of lying. It’s something I actively work on … and address in therapy.”

“Do you think you are still manipulative?” George asked. Gonzalez paused for a long time before answering, “That’s a really difficult question to answer. I try not to, but it does come up. In working through treatment, I’ve had to work … to not have manipulative behavior.”

Gonzalez admitted that he regularly called people — including several sex offenders — whom he was not permitted to talk to. He found a loophole around the rule by making three-way phone calls from Sonoma County Juvenile Hall.

“How many times did you ever tell anybody you’d been doing three-way calling from Sonoma?” George asked.

“I didn’t tell people,” Gonzalez answered. “You hid it?” George asked. “I would not say ‘hid.’ It was something I didn’t share,” he answered.

Much more at the link. He has women friends who send him money and gifts. Most disturbing is that he’s made friends with other men while in sex offender treatment. One sent him photos of women in lingerie. After that man was released he was arrested again for possession of thousands of CSAM!

If those aren’t the biggest and brightest red flags indicating Gonzalez will reoffend and probably in a violent manner then both my hinky meter and my bs detector are broken.

IMO he’s still a danger to women. Read the article, it’ll convince you that AJ is right where he belongs. JMO

Article may be behind a paywall for some.

For those who can handle the horrific details of Madyson’s murder here’s a link to AJ Gonzalez’ description in his own words. Be warned though, it’s much more detailed and graphic than what we’ve previously been told. I’m usually able to handle a lot but this was very distressing.

To spare you I’ll just say this man should never, ever be allowed back into society. He can lie and try to manipulate the authorities but IMO he isn’t rehabilitated. Not even close.

Based on his continued association with sex offenders - even though prohibited, I think it's safe to say his treatment has not been effective. He's not genuinely putting effort into therapy/treatment, he's manipulating and checking a box in order to be released.

He's not just a danger to women, he's a danger to children of all ages - male and female. It's only adult female pics now, because he can't get access to CSAM.

No way is a jury going to vote release him, not after what has been revealed by the prosecutor.

Gonzalez’s freedom, however, will be decided by 12 jurors. Their verdict has to answer one question: If he is released from custody, will Maddy’s murderer pose an “unreasonable risk of danger” to the public? In the deliberation room, jurors will vote to answer that question as “true,” to keep him locked up, or “untrue” to grant freedom, according to jury instructions.

Warning! More graphic description directly from AJ Gonzalez. I question if he was getting some sort of excitement from his own testimony regarding his murder of Madelyn.

Please jury, don’t let this predator back on the streets!

I applaud the jurors, this is a case with horrific details. I could never be impartial in the heinous murder if a child. Further, how do you choose which Psychiatrist’s testimony to believe when they have opposing opinions like this?

It will be interesting to see how long deliberations take.

Jury voted to keep this creature in juvenile custody for 2 more years.
Santa Cruz jury denies release of child killer Adrian Gonzalez

"With Wednesday's ruling, Gonzalez will remain a ward of the juvenile justice system and is expected to undergo more rehabilitation for at least the next two years. After that, prosecutors will have to go through a whole new court process to keep the confessed killer in custody."

Let me save them some time, "more rehabilitation" will never make this creature suitable for release. He belongs under the jail.

Greatful he'll be retained for another two years, but angered at the waste of time and resources in doing this all over again - two years from now. This is not Justice!

After listening to more than three months of testimony about Gonzalez’s crime, rehabilitation history, and psychological profile, Hoyt said California’s political leaders need to reform SB 1391 to keep offenders like Gonzalez locked up for life.

“The spirit of the law was probably in a very good place. I don’t think we should be over-prosecuting juveniles as adults. However, the fact that there are zero exceptions to this law, is flawed. I think it’s really obvious that this law is flawed. The state legislature, I’m calling for them to say hey … let’s change it,” Hoyt told KRON4.
