Also, the media video shows one set of shoes outside TB tent. I wonder if there were 3 sets (to include the shoes of TB's kids). If not, and if the shoes are TB's, a passerby may only thnk one person was in the tent????
Most likely there were 3 sets of shoes outside the tent during the night. Only 1 set remained after LE got the children out from the tent and they wore the shoes that were outside the tent.

Yes that other picture is from a single large lead SLUG fired from a shotgun. The reason I know this is I have a shotgun and have fired slugs like that before in it. Those types of shells are typically used for deer hunting or other large game.

Some shotguns also have gun sight Scopes on them which can allow them to be more accurate at a distance. Shotguns are not known for their accuracy but with a scope on it they can be pretty accurate.

That's going to do some serious damage if it strikes a sleeping person.

which makes me to believe that this was a close up and personal crime.

TB's brother, Dylan, also a scientist:
"Slain scientist Tristan Beaudette's brother is opening up about why he thinks his older sibling was murdered while sleeping next to his young daughters on a camping trip in a California park. “Based on my conversation with my brother-in-law, who was there, who found him, and who was awake shortly after the gunshots went off, there were no sounds nearby,” Dylan Beaudette, 37, told RadarOnline.com...“There were shots in the distance, a bullet went through the top in the tent, and a bullet went into [Tristan]. And that means that someone was firing horizontal from nearby. ”
So Tristan's wife's sister's husband must have called 911 after hearing the gunshots. But his account differs from what LE believes happened. From distance vs inside the tent.

Here is the list of shootings, that we know of.

MCSP=Malibu Creek State Park

Nov. 2016-Tapia Trail (just south of MCSP), Adult male, while sleeping in his hammock, was shot at close range with a shotgun. Needed surgery to remove pellets from his arm.

Jan. 2017-MCSP, 5Am, While sleeping in their Honda, an adult female and her boyfriend are shot at close range by a shotgun. No injuries reported.

June 18th, 2018, MCSP, (4:30AM?) Adult male reports finding gunshots on his parked vehicle. No injuries reported.

June 22, 2018, MCSP-campsite 49, 4:45AM, Tristen Beaudette, 35. Shot and killed while sleeping with his two young daughters, ages 2 and 4.

Campers recall previous shootings at California site where renowned scientist was killed

Second shooting at Malibu campground where father found murdered in front of two young daughters

Seems like there's a nut on the loose. Way too coincidental to me.

I really do not know why the relative is telling the media this. Being quiet is hard but talking about details is not a good idea, especially when the investigation is going on. Radar online is not reliable or truthful in many ways. JMO

As there are everywhere these days. There are a fair amount of homeless living in the surrounding hills.

Homeless people are far more likely to be victims of violent crime than perps, IMO.

And most aren't wandering around carrying guns. They'd have no safe place to stash it when entering government buildings and stuff.

How so? LE never said the shooter was in the tent with him. He was in the tent when shot though.

I've never seen that type of round before, either. That could do some serious damage. Yikes.

“The theory we are working with is he was shot inside the tent,” Lt. Rodney Moore told the Los Angeles Times on Sunday. “The children were inside the tent, too.”

Hmmm..
Tristan was shot inside the tent vs Tristan was inside the tent when the shot came from outside. What do you think?

So if that's true we are back to possible target practice. Maybe someone who goes and practices shooting illegally before going to work. It seems all these shootings are around the same time of day, early in the morning. Have they all been on a weekday?

except you can't shoot far with a shotgun

I think the wording is very confusing. They could've meant either. Would be nice if LE could come out and clear up the confusion. When I initially read that statement I thought, "Oh no! the girls could've accidentally shot him!" Then LE said they haven't found a weapon. So that's been ruled out. Thank God for that though!

Police reported the firearm used to kill Tristan Beaudette has NOT been found. Also, that the killing is being investigated as a homicide at this point. Will be interesting to read the autopsy report when that becomes available. Also, Malibu Creek is closed until further notice. Police are still reporting that the shot appears to be done from INSIDE the tent.

Also, Allergan has a medical device office in SF Bay Area- Pleasanton.
Do you have a link for this? First I've seen mention that he was shot from inside the tent. Thanks.

I read it as he was inside the tent when shot. Shooter was outside. IMO

TB was shot in the chest. How could a stray bullet shoot someone in the chest if that person was lying down? I'm "assuming" TB was lying down in the tent, which tells me that in order to be shot in the chest, the shooter would most likely be standing over him. Hum???? There were 2 holes reported in the tent, one was roughly on top, but LE didn't say if they were from a bullet. If TB was standing, or even sitting in his tent, then I can see a stray bullet hitting him. BUT, that is a pretty accurate shot for a stray bullet to hit.. This is a strange case indeed and VERY SAD :(

Anyone could be standing outside the tent and aim at an angle downward. Or he could've been sitting up.

Notice shootings occurred on June 6th 2017 & June 6th 2018?

If there is another on July 22 this year, there’s definitely some psycho on the loose out there.

I think they meant he was inside the tent when shot. So much confusing reporting on this case!
